Up against two National Champions, So Cal Blues (2007) and the Irvine Strikers (2006), the Spirit played hard beating the Strikers 1-0 and losing to the Blues with a respectable 0-1. Their first game against the Laural Lightening ended in a 1-1 tie. Although the Spirit did not perform as well as they had hoped, they left with pride knowing that they faced some of the toughest teams in the U16 age bracket.
