Groove 4th in One-Day Tournament
The Groove finished 4th in a tough field the day before Easter in Del Valle. It was a one day tournament, and the Groove played 6 gruelling games between 9 in the morning and 6 at night. They started by winning 2 and losing 1 in their pool, which seeded them 5th overall with a berth to the Gold Bracket play. In bracket play, they won their first game, beating the 4th-seeded Slam, and then lost to the Waco Fireballs and the Austin Stars. Overall - a respectable finish to a long day of softball. Temple - here we come!!!
Groove Places in 2nd Tournament of Spring March 2, 2008 - --
The Groove placed 3rd in the 12U division of the "Groovin Into Spring" tournament held in Del Valle this past weekend. On Saturday evening, the Groove beat the Freeze white in a close game, then they faced Austin's Finest in a game that was closer than it looked on the scoreboard, losing 4-1. On Sunday, we returned at 8:00 in the morning and played some great ball knocking off 4 straight teams before running out of gas. This was a real TEAM effort as all Groove players contributed throughout the weekend
The first of many Groovy weekends to come - stay tuned...

Another Groovy Comeback
Happy New Year!!!
Well, I have been inspired after taking a couple weeks off from work during the holidays that I need one more challenge in my life, and I have decided to re-start the Groove 95.
The Groove 95 has a history of success, most notably finishing as the highest a Central Texas 10U team has EVER finished at ASA “A” Nationals by finishing 5th in California. Please look around the website for more of the history.
My vision for the “New” Groove 95 is a team environment where girls WILL prepare for high-school softball. Focus will be on obtaining the skills and knowledge of the game necessary to play early in high school. What it WILL NOT be is an opportunity to collect trophies. We will seek the biggest, best, and most well-coached teams to play. We will seek out opportunities to learn. We will play teams better than we are regularly and learn from our competition and our mistakes to make ourselves better softball players and a stronger team. For most of you, high school is at-least a year-and-a-half away. That may seem like a long time but believe me – it goes far too fast, and there is so much I wish I had time to work on with my eldest.
We will be holding tryouts on Sunday, January 20 from 2-5 at the Dripping Springs Youth Sports Association fields. We are looking for players born preferably in 1995, but might also include exceptional athletes born in 1996. At tryouts, we will have a short meeting and hand out information about the team to the parents. Late tryouts are possible, but only by appointment on the evenings of Jan 21, or 22. A team roster will be announced by Wednesday, January 23.
Please also take the time to pass this along to others that might be interested in attending, and feel free to call me at the number below with any questions you may have before the tryouts.
I’ll leave you with this link to a story I found online: http://www.fastpitchsoftball.com/fastpitchsoftballinspiration.asp
