2008 Flag Football Season Information
August 15, 2008
The 2008 ACS Flag Football Season begins on Sunday, September 14, at Mercer University. Each team will play a minimum of nine games, including at least one doubleheader. Barring excessive rainouts, the league is expected to conclude before Thanksgiving.
A mandatory captain's meeting for flag football is set for Thursday, August 14th at Hudson Grille in Brookhaven. The meeting starts at 7pm in one of the two meeting rooms near the back of the restaurant. This meeting will be closed to captains and potential captains only!
A league fee of $750 per team is due no later than August 14. Checks will not be cashed until September 8. League fees will increase to $800 per team after the August 14 captain's meeting, so please submit checks on time. Submission of your check reserves a slot in the league that is restricted to a maximum of 20 teams. So please attend the captain's meeting and bring your checks!
We will again have a weekend cookout event in which everyone will get a ticket for a hamburger/hotdog, chips, cookie, and drink. Unlike last year, there will be no extra charge on the day of the cookout. Each team will receive 14 tickets. Extra tickets may be purchased for $4 each and may be paid at the event.
One last note, we only got one reply back for the commissioner slot and are still waiting to hear back from this person. So as of now, we still need two people to step up this year to help! Please think about volunteering yourself or asking a teammate to help.
