American Football Wellington Junior Development Coaching Clinic
The clinic signals the start of the 2008/2009 junior development programme for American Football Wellington. Our two special guests who will facilitate the clinic are Rhys Dacre from Christchurch (a former NCAA Division I assistant coach) and Jason Vaka of Auckland (former AF2 player and currently the AFL representative for New Zealand).
All Club junior coaches are expected to attend. The coaching clinic will also be open to non-AFW members. This is an invaluable opportunity to receive direction from two people who have extensive football experience as a player and coach in the United States.
The three day Coaching Clinic will cover everything from the 7-man game, the playbook, coaching ethics, practice preparation, specific positional coaching, game preparation and much more. The clinic is not limited to just junior coaches. All material that will be covered is relevant for the senior programme as well. Senior coaches are most welcome.
