What is legal age for operating a moped?
Fifteen years of age provided the person possess a BMV issued I.D. and wears a helmet and eye protection (IC 9-21-11-12), (IC 9-21-11-13).

What is a moped?
A two or three wheeled vehicle which has:
* an engine rating of not more than two horsepower
* a cylinder capacity not exceeding fifty cubic centimeters;
* an automatic transmission; and
* a maximum designed speed of not more than 25 miles per hour on a flat surface
(IC 9-13-2-109).
