NEW RULE - PER B.A.A. BOARD 2008 - JANUARY MEETING #2
Due to the rising costs that are incurred in running the sport, we are becoming increasingly dependent on family participation. Not just volunteers, but the players actually attending practices and games - on time and ready to play.
By registering and volunteering within the organization and participating in our fundraiser, we can continue to offer our players a positive experience at a reduced cost. Without family participation, we cannot offer all benefits as we have in the past. One of those benefits is the presentation of a trophy/participation award for every player.
As a player in a Beechview Athletic Association Program, each player will receive a trophy/participation award. In order to qualify for the participation award, the player must:
1. Participate in at least 75% of all practices.
2. Participate in at least 75% of all games.
3. Participate in the fundraiser(s) for that season.
4. Parent/Guardian must donate at least 2 hours of volunteer work for that season (i.e. work concession stand, sell 50/50, or assist in field maintenance/set up).
If “ALL” the above are not met, the Association has the right to deny the player a trophy/participation award. As a parent/guardian of a player who wishes to participate in the Beechview Athletic Association’s Soccer Program, you must agree to meet the conditions stated above for your child to receive his/her trophy/participation award. You also understand that if the conditions stated above are not met, your child may not receive a trophy/participation award.
SIGNING UP AND HARDLY SHOWING UP MAKES THE TEAM ILL PREPARED, HURTS THE OTHER CHILDREN IN THE PROGRAM, AND IS NOT PART OF LEARNING A TEAM SPORT.
