Our history
About CGFBA
The Coral Gables Fire Benevolent Association was established in 1965 as a fraternal organization to assist firefighters during times of unexpected hardships or crisis as well as supporting the family of a fallen firefighter.
That same goodwill and brotherhood has remained strong for more than 50 years.
We are a 501(c)3 charitable organization that’s main goal remains to support our firefighters and their families as well as supporting various charities, non-profits and causes in our local and surrounding community.
The organization is funded mainly through
membership dues from our firefighters and the generous donations from our local
businesses and individuals in our community.
The fund has been able to create such opportunities as the Woody Brice Scholarship Fund that is aimed towards students who want to pursue a career in Fire and EMS. We have also aided with our fire department’s highly successful Fire Cadet program Post 349. Our charitable hand has assisted with various charities and causes such as the National Breast Cancer Society, Never Walk Alone, Autism Awareness, American Red Cross and many more.
