Official Certification Day - Saturday, August 15 What is Official Certification Day? In years past this was referred to as Official Weigh In Day in which all players had to present their Original Birth Certificate and step on the scale to ensure they meet the age and weight qualifications. This season the STYFA League voted to change the process a little to address concerns about some players weight. For this reason, players will only have to present their Original Birth Certificate at Official Certification Day and not step on the scale to weigh in. In order to ensure the safety of the players there will be a mandatory weigh in 30 to 45 minutes before each game. Any child that is over the weight limit will not be allowed to play in the game. A player must meet the weight requirement while wearing at minimum their football pants and pads. We are still waiting on a final schedule for Official Certification Day so please stay tuned to the website for details. |

Practice Status Line - 713-881-5383 We are pleased to announce that we have established a new BAYFA Texans Status Line at 713-881-5383 to help keep everyone informed in the event of bad weather. Please add this number to your cell phone for easy access. The status line and the website will normally be updated by 5:15 PM in the event of bad weather. Please check one of these places before calling your GM or a board member to inquire if practice has been cancelled. Parents please be aware that we do not take cancelling practice lightly and generally will only do so if there is lightning in the area. Football is a game that's played in the rain and the boys need to practice in it to learn how to play in it. For those of you new to the area please be aware that it's not uncommon, especially this time of year, for thunderstorms to pop up late in the afternoon and be gone by practice time. The status line is being sponsored by DataVox, a proud supporter of youth athletics and the BAYFA Texans. |

BAYFA Sponsors The BAYFA Texans Youth Football Association is looking for a few more sponsors this season. Both individual and corporate sponsors are welcome. Sponsor money is used to purchase uniforms, practice equipment, insurance, and to pay for the officials that work our home games. Since we have a lot of home games this season we have a lot of officials to pay for. Click here for more information... |

Game Day Jobs - Announcer / Spotter Have you ever heard them on radio or TV and said to yourself, that would be a pretty cool job. Well now is your chance to sit behind the microphone and call the game. If you are interested in filling either of these roles for your team please contact your team mom to volunteer. |
