Bloor Jays v.s. Mississauga Majors
Bloor played 2 in the friendly confines of Fleetwood on Sunday afternoon against the Mississauga Majors.
Game 1
Adam Messina takes the hill for game 1 making his first appearance of the year and goes 3 1/3 innings. Majors take an early 3-0 lead thanks to a Josh Pileggi 2 run HR. The Jays get 2 back in the first as Adam Messina helps his own cause with a double. The Majors score 5 in the third to take a 8-2 lead thanks in large part to J.P. Anderson's first HR of the game. Triston Hackett goes deep in the 3rd to help the Jays drop the gap to 8-5 after the 3rd. The Majors add 2 more in the 4th. Nigel and Monck go back to back on 2 pitches to shorten the lead to 11-7. Jays add 2 more in the 5th to close the gap again to 11-9. Adam Hand comes in for relief in the bottom of the 4th. The Majors lead 15-11 heading into the bottom of the 7th. The Jays have closed the gap to 15-13 with one out and up steps Paolo with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Paolo hits a shot to centre. Monck scores and Hand is waved home. The Majors catcher is up the line with the ball nowhere near the plate. Hand gives the catcher a love tap and is called out for interference. Jays lose 15-14 in controversial fashion.
Game 2
Both teams are tired mentally and physically after game 1. David Markoff takes the hill for game 1 and goes 5 strong innings giving up 5 runs. The Majors jump out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to a 2 run HR by Joey Pileggi. The Majors plate 3 more runs in the 4th to take a 5-0 lead. Paolo goes deep in the 4th to shorten the lead to 5-2. The Jays add one more in the 5th thanks to a Boyle single. Majors add 2 more in the 7th and win the game 7-3.
