    2009 BYBA Competitive Tryouts
    August 16, 2008 - 03:30 PM Due to the weather, the fields are in no condition to hold the tryouts this weekend. They will be moved to next Sunday, August 24.

    2009 Majors, AAA and AA tryouts for ages 8-14 will now be on August 24 due to the weather.

    Report to the Wenscorp Baseball Center one half hour prior to your scheduled time for check in. Age is based on age as of April 30, 2009.

    9:00am - 7's - 9's
    10:30am - 10's and 11's
    12:00pm - 12's and 13's
    1:30pm - 14's

    2008 USSSA – 10AAA State Championship Tournament
    Rules & Guidelines Summary


    Field Locations and Maps are located at www.brightonyouthbaseball.com .

    Procedures/Rules/Guidelines:
    1)All teams must turn in a USSSA Computer generated Roster signed by all participants and parents/guardians.
    2)Pick up pitching log prior to first game. Teams must have pitching log at all times and the home team will keep track of the pitching log and Game Card. Game Card must be returned at the conclusion of the game – signed by a team representative.
    3)Home team is determined by coin flip in pool play and CHAMPIONSHIP Game. In eliminations, the higher seed has choice of home or away. If two teams are the same seed coming out of pool play, then a coin toss determines home team.
    4)Batting Order – 3 choices – declare option at plate meeting:
    Bat 9
    Bat 9 + EH
    Bat Continuous Lineup consisting of all present uniformed players
    5)Time Limit – 1:45 for pool play and first 2 rounds of Eliminations. No Time Limit in Semi-Finals or Finals.
    6)Mercy Rules: 15 runs AFTER the 3rd inning (or middle of 3rd if home team is ahead), and 8 runs after 4th inning (or middle of 4th if home team is ahead). This is different wording from USSSA, but is by directive of the Colorado USSSA State Director.
    7)Pitching Summary:
    4 innings is the max a pitcher may pitch and be eligible to pitch the next day
    6 innings is the max a pitcher may pitch in a single day.
    8 innings is the max a pitcher may pitch in 2 consecutive days.
    No pitcher may pitch 3 consecutive days.
    An appearance (even if an OUT is not recorded) counts as a day pitched.

    8)Advancing out of Pool Play – Only the top 2 teams from each pool advance: using USSSA State Championship Play (rule 5.14) – a) Head to Head, b) Runs Allowed, c) Run Differential +/- 8 max, d) USSSA Point System, e) Coin Flip
    9)NO DOGS ALLOWED, No alcohol, and No tobacco. The fields are located on School Property and use of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs is prohibited by State Law.
    10)No Improper Language/Profanity. The umpires have been instructed to eject players/coaches/parents who use improper language. These ejections will come without warning.
    11)At the BYBA fields – No warmups may be done in between fields. Cross the street to the north and use the soccer or football field.
    12)Have Fun!!!!

    Prairie View High School - Softball Field (PVHS)

    BYBA Fields 1-4 (Brighton Youth 1-4)

    Ron Cox Field it is across the street north from the BYBA Fields.

    All fields are located on SCHOOL PROPERTY - therefore:
    --No Dogs Allowed-- (you will be asked to leave)
    --No Tobacco Use, No Alcohol allowed!!-- Colorado State Law.

    All teams must bring a signed copy of their USSSA roster. These will be cross-checked with what is on the national site.

Congratulations to all of the winners as well as all of the teams that participated in this tournament and made it another huge success!

    2008 Registration Information
    New feature this year...ONLINE Registration>click here!

    Due to multiple requests, one roster space has been added to each team in each division. These final registration spaces are available on a first come - first serve basis. The $25 late fee applies to all late registrations. Only credit card payments are accepted at this late date. Once a division reaches player capacity, a short waitlist will be compiled.

    Walk-in Registration has ended. Only ONLINE Registrations will be accepted. Late fee of $25 applies.

    In-Town Recreational League
    T-Ball - 4 and 5 years - $65 - Practice begins end of April - (8-10 games)
    Machine Pitch - 6 years - $95 - Practice begins end of April - (10-12 games)
    Machine Pitch - 7 years - $120 - Practice begins mid April - (10-12 games)
    Kid Pitch - 8 years - $120 - Practice begins mid April - (10-12 games)
    Kid Pitch - 9 and 10 years - $120 - Practice begins mid April - (10-12 games)

    Juniors & Competitive Leagues
    Juniors - 14 years - $195 - Games begin early March - (16-18 games)
    Juniors - 11-13 years - $195 - Games begin April 1st - (16-18 games)
    Competitive - 14 years - $195 - Games begin early March - (16-18 games)
    Competitive - 8-13 years - $195 - Games begin April 1st - (16-18 games)

    **Players may play up ONE age group**


    Registration options:

    - Register here, online, beginning January 19th - Online registration must be paid by credit card.

    - Register at WENSCORP Baseball Center, 895 Voiles St., Unit B - In person, you may pay by cash or check.
    ...Saturday, January 19th from 12pm - 3pm
    ...Saturday, January 26th from 12pm - 3pm
    ...Saturday, February 2nd from 12pm - 3pm

    BYBA Boundaries include all of the Brighton 27J School District. Either live in the district or go to school in the district (includes private schools).
    Juniors and Competitive teams have out of area exceptions.
    Schools included: North, Northeast, South, Southeast, Henderson, Pennock, Second Creek, Thimmig, Westridge, Bromley East, Belle Creek, Landmark Academy, Overland Trail, Vikan, Prairie View, and Zion.
