_{WHAT IS ALL-STAR CHEER?}

One of the fastest growing sports in the country! Teams exist for all ages and all skill levels including teams for adults interested in staying active in a competitive sport they love. All-Star Cheer is not what you see at your local high school or university. This is a competitive team sport incorporating skills from several other disciplines such as gymnastics, dance, stunting and of course, cheer. All-Star squads differ from other teams in that they train year-round for competitions and their goal is to compete and win. All-Star Cheer also differs from most other sports in that every team member is vital to the team and its performance. There are no bench warmers, no second string, no favorites. Everybody has an integral part and no one sits out! Each member of the squad will train in all aspects of the sport in order to develop their skills to reach their maximum potential.
Each team will attend a summer camp to expand their skills and surround themselves with other athletes who believe in and work toward the same goals. Additionally, each team will compete a minimum of three times this season in Regionals, Invitationals and Championships in an attempt to secure a bid to Nationals! Each team has a mandatory monthly team outing to promote team unity and spirit, friendship between athletes and staff and to provide a means to socialize in a drug and alcohol free environment! We also require the parents to attend a monthly "Cougar Club" meeting which is a booster organization set up to handle fund-raising, travel and accommodations, Letter Ceremonies, etc. Our "Cougar Club" will assist us in our fund-raising and to allow us to offer scholarships for a limited number of athletes each year. Another important aspect of our program is community service. Each athlete is required to assist the team in giving back to the very community which has supported them in their fund-raising efforts.
Our goal is to teach each athlete the skills necessary to succeed in their chosen sport, to foster a sense of team and team spirit, to encourage personal growth, to provide each athlete with a trusted adult mentor and to provide a safe and caring environment for each athlete to reach their potential.
