2008 Summer Season
CPMSL Tournament
- The Central PA Modified Softball League will be hosting a 10 man
modified tournament on Aug. 2 and Aug. 3 at the Lower Allen Commmunity Park (same fields as 2006 tournament) in Mechanicsburg, PA. The 10 man pitching rule (no slingshotting, etc.) will be enforced. It will be a
double-elimination tournament and the cost to enter a team will be $200...more details to follow soon.
All games on Tuesday, July 1st are ON! No cancellations. The league phone line appears to be down.
IMPORTANT: The Eagle vs. State Farm game scheduled for Wed. July 2nd at the Marysville softball field has been moved to Creekview at 6:30. The teams will play a double-header (moving up their regularly scheduled game on 7/10).
The League phone line where players can call to find out about game postponements on the days of games is 255-1212 has been disabled by the Patriot-News as of July 1. They provided it as a community service and we have used it for a number of years. You will not be able to call this # anymore to get updated game postponement information. We will look at getting another line to call ASAP.

There are a lot of postponed games to be rescheduled. Please use this (below in blue) as the latest source of seeing makeup-games. I will do best to keep update the regular schedule (which is displayed at the bottom along with other places on the site) but cannot make promises. I have next weeks rescheduled games changed, there are also some site changes to be sure to see where you play.

Click here for Schulkill Modified Softball League website They are hosting the annual Kole Harris Tournament this year on June 6-8, 2008 in Pine Grove. Hershey Med Center was runner-up in 2007 and Lamp Post Inn was tournament champion in 2005. This will be the first year that multi-wall bats will not be allowed in the tournament.
The 2008 season schedule has been posted below and is also available by clicking "2008 Schedule" on the left. Field directions to E-town and Marysville have been posted on the left under "Field Locations".
The League phone line where players can call to find out about game postponements on the days of games is 255-1212, after hearing the date/time hit 7901. We will try our best to update the phone line as soon as a game has been decided to be postponed. You can check this website too, but usually the phone line will be updated first.

At the April 2, 2008 Pre-season meeting it was voted upon to change the Playoff Structure for 2008 to be an 8 team double-elimination tournament with the top 7 teams based on regular season record ranking. There will not be a 3 game championship series as there was in 2007. There will be a single-elimination play-in round to determine the 8th team. This will be #8 vs. #11 and #9 vs. #10....with the two winners playing a game with that winner advancing as the #8 seed to the Double Elimation Tournament.
There will be two divisions created soley for competitive reasons as far as having a Regular Season Division Champions and also for having an All-star game between the Divisions. These divisions were broken down based on 2007 records with to divide them up evenly. Odd ranked teams in the National, and even ranked teams in the American....new team assigned to the National. The rankings used for the end-of-season Playoff tournament are based on League rankings and has nothing to do with the Divisions or ranking in the division.
About the League
The Central PA Modified Fast Pitch Softball League (CPMSL) is a competitive adult men's softball league (10-man) that plays games in the Harrisburg, PA area (East and West Shores) on weekday evenings (Mon thru Friday) from early May to early August in the summer. Games are played at Creekview Park (Hampden Twp.), Brightbill Park (Lower Paxton Twp.), Elizabethtown Community Field, Marysville Lions Club Fields, and the Hampden Twp. Municipal field. In the fall, we have played in the past at Veteran's Park (Susquehanna Twp.) and Oak Hills (Middletown). If anyone knows of any fields that are available, please let us know!

The CPMSL also has a fall league with games played on weekday evenings from late August to late October. Games are played at Veteran's Park in Susquehanna Twp. in Harrisburg, Oak Hills in Middletown, and Creekview Park in Hampden Twp. (Camp Hill). Two games a night are typically played at fields with lights.
