K-2 Division
General Rules

The objective of the Grade 1 Division is to have fun playing the game and to learn the fundamentals of baseball through practice and games.

1. Number of Players
Defensive Team = 10
Offensive Team = Team Roster

2. Length of Game
The length of a game is 3 innings.

3. Batting Order
All players present are listed in the order in which they are to bat.  Coaches will use a different batting order each game.

4. Batting
There is a maximum of 10 batters or three outs per inning, whichever comes first.
If one team does not have 10 players at the game, then the order will repeat until 10 batters have been up at the plate.
The coach shall pitch overhand, from knee to his own team.  There will be no strikeouts.  After 3 (swinging) strikes, a tee will be used.

5. Base Running
Runners must stay in contact with the base until the ball is hit.  A runner cannot advance to the next base when the ball is in control by an infield player, unless being forced by another runner.

6. Foul
Same as conventional baseball except the ball that travels less than 12 feet, in fair territory, from home plate is called a foul. (An imaginary arc 12 feet from the home plate shall be drawn from the first base line to the third base line.)

7. Bunting
The batter shall not be allowed to bunt and may not take a half-swing or swinging bunt.

8. Overthrows
No base advancement on overthrows.

9. Defensive Play
Each player present for the game must be given a position on the field.  Only 6 players are permitted in the proper infield positions (catcher include).  One adult assistant will be fixed on the first base for receiving overthrows only.  The remaining 5 players will be placed in the outfield.  If more than 10 players are on the roster and present, all players must be given equal playing time in the field.

10. Coaching
Managers and coaches may stand near their batters or defensive players to give advice, but must not interfere with play.  The manager or coach must call "time" before he/she attempts to demonstrate a technique or to explain a play to his/her players during the progress of the game.  Only two coaches are allowed on the field with the defensive team.  Only two are allowed to coach the bases.

11. Bench
All players except for the batter and the on-deck batter shall remain on the bench.  This rule will be strictly enforced to eliminate injuries and confusion.

12. Scoring and Record Keeping
The coach shall keep his/her own team informed of the score during the game and at the game's conclusion.

13. 50 foot base path (70' 8 1/2" from home - approximately 23 paces from home to 2nd base.)
30 foot pitching mound.

14. All official Little League rules apply to situations not addressed in these rules.
