|
| Coach Pitches to players ages 7-8. The pitching mound is 38 feet from home plate. The bases are 50 feet apart. Pinto teaches the basic fundamentals of baseball. The playing age of the player is as of 07/31/2000. Pinto will have 10 Players in the field during fall regular season and end of season tournament play. The player batting receives a maximum of 6 pitches or 3 strikes whichever comes first. All players bat whether they play in the field or not. No leading off or stealing of bases is allowed. The games for the spring league will be a maximum of 6 innings or 1 hour and 15 minute time limit. No inning may be started after 1 hour and 15 minutes, however if an inning has already began the inning will be completed. Games can end in a tie. There is a mandatory two inning defensive play rule that is to be adhered to unless there is an injury to a player or if for disciplinary reasons a player is pulled from the game. No team can score more than 5 runs in an inning unless the umpire has declared an "open" inning. The open inning will be the sixth inning or the first inning to begin after one hour. The umpire MUST declare the open inning, it is not to be assumed by the coaches that the open inning has been declared until the umpire has stated it. An official game can end without an open inning ever being played. If an open inning is completed before time expires, another 5 run inning should be declared and started by the home plate umpire. There will not be a protest committee and the umpire's final decision will stand. There is a mandatory slide rule at home plate when the player covering at home has the ball in his/her possession or there is a play at home plate. Failure of the runner to attempt to slide may result in the ejection of that runner for the remainder of the game. Maximum of 5 coaches allowed on the field at any time. This is a summary of some bluebook rules and should not be viewed as a statement of the official rules. Play is governed by Official Baseball rules: "The Sporting News " edition. Exceptions to the official baseball rules are covered under PONY baseball Inc. rules and regulations for the Pinto league then further exceptions covered under the Oak Hill Youth Sports Association Bluebook, please refer to those publications for more specific information. |
