JV and Varsity Team Tryouts

1st is the initial day for baseball tryouts. All players MUST have the following
completed by Monday, February 26th:

permission forms must be completed by your parents and turned into Coach Friskey or Coach Wolf
YOU MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN TRYOUTS UNTIL BOTH OF THESE FO=
RMS
ARE TURNED IN…NO EXCEPTIONS! YOU HAVE 2 ½ MONTHS TO GET THIS D=
ONE.
DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE.
Cuts will be made if necessary by March 10th. =

JV and Varsity teams will practice each Saturday in March. If you have a jo=

Saturday, you need to make the necessary arrangements to get off if possibl=
e.
What you need for tryouts:
Base=
ball
pants, baseball hat, glove, spikes, sweatshirt or jacket for outdoor practi=
ces.
Tennis shoes for indoor practices during inclement weat=
her. Shirts must be tucked in and hats =
are to
be worn brim side over the front of your face. Both indoor and outdoor gear
must be with you at all times , as the weather
dictates where we will practice.

Rams baseball team utilizes their own website as=

primary source of communication. Anything that you want to know about the t=

or when a game or practice is scheduled may be found on the website along w=

a host of other things to help your game out including player stats, standi=
ngs,

Workout program for pre season workouts will be
posted on website by the first of the year. Do not come to tryouts to g=
et
into shape….you need to come to tryouts in shape. We have exa=
ctly
two weeks before we have our first scrimmage game after tryouts have begun.
That clearly is not enough time to get into shape and be ready to play
ball.

Grades--=
- All
students are required to have a passing grade of no lower than a
“D” in all subjects. Any students with a failing grade in any
subject will be determined to be ineligible to play any sport until that gr=
ade
has been brought up to a passing grade. The SECOND quart=
er
grades determine eligibility for baseball.=
The third quarter grades do not come out until the first week in Apr=
il.
Even if you pull your grades up for that quarter you must practice an
additional 10 days before you may participate in any games. By that time mo=
st
of the season is gone.
School Conduct—any student that has been
suspended from school for any reason may forfeit the privilege to play
baseball. Coaches will review all available information on a student that h=
as
been suspended and make the necessary decision on whether the student can p=
lay
or not.
