Date:
Sunday, May 4, 2014
Start Time:
9:30 AM
Location:
Country Lane Woods (Palos Park)
Information:
ATTENTION: All Scouts who are working on the Orienteering Merit Badge or for any others who are interested (or for those who like having fun while using a compass!) Family members are also welcome!!
I cannot attend this event, so if any Scouts and/or Scouters wish to go, I will give them credit if they do the course and turn in a map from the event to me.
I can be best reached by email at L.Desch@att.net but feel free to contact me by phone at 708 460-6762. I can then send you directions or answer questions.
For those Scouts working on the Orienteering Merit Badge: This is one of the easiest and best ways to meet many of the requirements. For those Scouts who are interested I can either come early to the event and go over some of the "discussion" and learning requirements OR I
(or other counselors) could do those requirements at a troop meeting.
All of these races start around 10AM---(I am usually there by 9:30 or so.)
For more information about the locations for the races and for the Chicago Area Orienteering Club in general go to:
