July and August practices for Tackle will be held at Foothill Intermediate School/Community Center of La Canada.
Information:
Players need to arrive a few minutes early, and be ready to START practice at 5:30 SHARP
Normal Practice schedule is Monday through Friday 5:30-7:30. The exception(s) to this schedule will be when teams have scrimmages with other teams instead of normal practice.
Players should wear their Gladiator T-shirt and Gladiator jersey shorts, better known as “Spirit Pack” that they will receive on Sunday, helmet with colored mouth piece and football cleats. (no metal or detachable cleats allowed) PLEASE WRITE YOUR SONS LAST NAME IN BOLD BLACK PERMANENT MARKER ACROSS THE BACK SHOULDERS OF HIS T-SHIRT.
Please make sure your son brings plenty of WATER to drink. Please save sport drinks for after practice and at no time during the season are energy drinks allowed on the field.
Each boy must condition for 10 supervised hours before he can put pads on in week two. Week two, the boys with 10 hours of conditioning begin to practice in pads. They must have 10 supervised hours in pads before they can play in a scrimmage game. Make-ups are not always available, so each absence delays his progress exponentially.
PARKING AT FIS:
All drop-offs and pick-ups should be done in the La Canada Community Center parking lot off of Foothill Blvd and Chevy Chase Drive.
There is no parking or waiting in the pick-up/drop off line.
THERE IS NO PARKING IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER LOT
If you expect to wait for your child, please park elsewhere. The Community Center holds night classes--do not park in that lot.
NO DROP-OFFS OR PICK-UPS AT THE LOWER CORNISHON GATE. NEIGHBORS WILL BE MONITORING AND REPORTING TO THE CITY.
Ample parking for coaches, staff, and parents is available at:
1. The Renaissance Academy/La Canada Prep/LCUSD parking lot located at 4490 Cornishon Avenue (right above the Skatepark).
2. The Lanterman Auditorium parking lot located at 4491 Cornishon Avenue.
3. On-street parking on Cornishon Avenue ABOVE THE SKATEPARK ONLY.
Any Gladiator cars found parked or waiting on Cornishon below the skate park or on residential streets will be subject to ticketing by the Sheriff. (This is not an idle threat. They will do it!!)
