The MLL board voted against having a 2017 Fall Ball season, unless five members of our community are willing to step up and volunteer to serve on a Fall Ball auxiliary board. The current board, as well as the new incoming board, would assist in an oversight capacity. The current board would assist with key components such as registration, field rental, and communications. The primary reason for the board’s decision to proceed in this manner is centered on a lot of work that will be on going after the current Spring season ends. This includes things such as:
- Implementation of new online registration system
- Player/volunteer document management
- Organizing ways to get games played at Copper Sky
- Annual meeting with possible new board members
As some of you are aware, we had a poll posted on our website to gauge the interest in Fall Ball versus structured clinics. A total of 179 people voted, 92 for Fall Ball, and 87 for something other than Fall Ball. It is our hope that with the support of a few people in favor of Fall Ball we can organize a
season for the kids.
A meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 6th, at 7pm (location TBD) to discuss Fall Ball in detail and what is involved in serving on the auxiliary board. This meeting is open to all league members and the board will be present to answer any questions regarding the Fall Ball season decision. If you would like to see a Fall Ball season, we urge you to make every effort to attend this meeting, and consider how you can help facilitate the season.
