| I've been witness to every football game except two in the history of Northgate High School (I was sick one weekend and had to be out of town another). What I watched this season was a group of young men who learned how to be a team and play with an incredible amount of heart and courage.
You have served notice on our region and our state that the Viking football team is once again a force to be reckoned with.
Congratulations to each of the players, coaches and the parents who supported these guys in so many different ways this year.
There's a Lombardi quote that I've referenced over the years in some difficult times..... As we all pulled away from Marist tonight, I thought about this.... it certainly applies to this team and it's leaders.
"We may be wounded, but never vanquished. We will heal our wounds and rise to fight again another day. From time to time, the title of champion may fall to others more often than to ourselves, but the heart, spirit and soul of a champion will ALWAYS reside, right here at NORTHGATE !! "
Congratulations all.... we'll see you next year.

| I want to add to what has already been posted. This year was simply awesome and all players, coaches, and fans should be congratulated. I loved hearing opposing fans in the stands comment on how small our players looked on the field. I also loved seeing the look of disbelief in their eyes when you guys lined up and whipped them. This is what football is really all about! Congrats, and I can't wait for next year.

| What a great season! It would have been very easy to set your sights on a lesser target coming off a disappointing season in 2007, but you demonstrated an amazing amount of courage, character and heart. One thing is for sure, when our opponents walked off the field, they knew they had been in a battle. I am proud of the entire team, coaches and fans. It is in the moment of most adverse conditions that the true character of a person can be seen. This program has faced no more adversity than trying to establish it's identity coming into this 2008 season. I want to commend the coaching staff for the obviously high intensity level that began at the 1st practice and was sustained all the way to the playoffs. I want to commend the players for playing with that same intensity level each time you took the field. I also want to commend the fans for a new beginning of intense support for our program. I want to say a special Thank You to the Seniors. You guys helped this program back to it's feet and provided those coming behind you with a sense of pride in Viking Football. I know the last game did not end the way you would have hoped, but from where I sat I didn't see the end of a season, I believe I was witnessing the beginning of great things to come. To you Juniors, Sophmores and Freshman it's time to take the next steps. The Northgate Vikings will not walk softly into the 2009 campaign....this region has taken notice! Great Job! I'm proud of all of you!

| Wow! What a season!! To see our child...our sons and daughters fighting for something they believed in...to have passion and never give up. To watch the coaches take our sons and daughters and mold them into champions(football, cheerleading and band!!). According to some, we were undersized and lacked depth but we had the heart of champions and that made all the difference. Thank you seniors! I know your parents are proud of the leadership you displayed on and off the field. You are truly first class. Enjoyed the mohocs!! Only Northgate would understand the pride!

| I want to say THANK YOU, to all the players, coaches, fans, band, cheerleaders, and everyone involved with this football team in the 2008 Season. It was such a great ride to be on. This TEAM no doubt had one of the biggest hearts as a group that I have ever seen. I have been a fan of all Northgate sports for more than just the 4 years I have attended here, and in those 4 years I had the opportunity to serve as a trainer/manager for several athletic programs in the process. The HEART that this team had was incredible, and it was amazing to watch yall go out there and give it your ALL every play. Yall didnt listen to what others' expectations were...you had your own in mind. Watching Northgate Football every Friday night was something I will never forget. I applaud the coaches for all the effort they put in this season, I applaud the parents and fans for all the support this season, but most of all, I applaud the players for EVERYTHING you have done. I want to thank you for making my Senior year unforgettable, and I will always remember the 12 Seniors who poured their heart and soul into Northgate football everyday for 4 years. And I challenge the class of 2010, 2011, and 2012...you have what it takes to be great...great coaches, great players, and great parents...when the 2009 football season rolls around...show the HEART, DETERMINATION, and COURAGE you showed in the 2008 season, and everything else will fall into place. I am truly proud to be a Viking!
Once a Viking, Always a Viking
Thank You All

| I will never forget the Whitewater game last year in the 2007 season. We all witnessed a glimor of hope. We lost that game too, but we gave those boys a good fight. I left their stadium hoping that our boys and coaches could hang onto that feeling remember it, embrace it, strive for it in the 2008 season. I knew we had the talent. I knew we had the heart. Thank you coaches and players for putting it all together, for working hard, for fighting for the win. I would have stood behind you and supported you win or lose, but thank you for the wins. It was much more fun! I am so thankful the seniors have wonderful memories to look back on,and the under classmen have something to build from ~ let's keep the feeling alive!!

| As I have said before....we are so PROUD to be a part of Viking football. This season was more than we could have thought possible, and leaves us with the taste for MORE next year. You boys will never be "out manned" because you play with the biggest hearts and souls of anyone I have ever seen. You could teach alot of us about character, strength, and the sheer will to win and be the BEST YOU CAN BE!!You may not ever have a fancy stadium and be sponsered by "under armour" but you have proven to be a force to be reckoned with, and I bet there are alot of teams shaking their heads this year. We have shown them all that our coaches, players, fans, parents, should NOT ever be counted out. All I can say is look out, we are coming for all of ya! GO NGHS!!! Viking Pride!!!!!!!!! Get yere shakers ready!

| Soothsayer~please go back and read the title of the thread which says "Congratulations Vikings!", and know that is why your post was deleted. No matter what you think, these boys are talented and do not deserve your disrespect. So do as a wise person would do and "if you do not have something nice to say, dont say anything at all". As the mother of the talented starting center, I expect any future disrespectful posts to be deleted as well.

| Could not have said it better myself......one would THINK enough to know if you mess with one Viking you get ALL the Vikings and then some. There will always be HATERS, but we have proved them wrong, and they simply can't take it. VIKING PRIDE, VIKING STRONG!!!!!

| Dish it out but cant take it? Sorry I dont remember every saying anything bad and I was the one who had your post deleted!
Funny how that works, you think you are all hot stuff and then somebody comes in and proves you wrong.
Great year Vikings absolutely great way to end high school football for myself and the rest of the senior class. This year was so much different than any other year. No matter who the opponent, there was belief. Everyone believed we could beat teams that we werent supposed to beat and that made all the difference. You guys had less talent than you did last year but belief in yourselves got you to the State Playoffs.
Congrats again guys and thanks for everything
Check out my senior story at theproject20.com :]
