| High School Based Summer Teams VS. Showcase Summer Teams
Unlike most HS based summer teams, our showcase summer program is run by professional coaches in paid positions. Our showcase program is about 50% training and practices with 50% game time, verses most HS based team playing 35 games but having very few practices. All HS based summer teams are playing their games on local HS fields, but our Showcase program plays almost all our games on actual college team fields while we travel across the state. Primary Goal of HS based summer teams is used as a fundraiser while keeping the “team” together during the summer season, verse the primary goal of Showcase Summer teams is exposure and experience at the colligate level. There are some great HS Based summer teams for sure, so you have to decide what is important for your family and player.
Coach James does not discourage participation in HS summer team baseball and some players choose to do both with HS games being scheduled during the week. If you have any other questions about this please reach out to Coach James personally.

Do you have an Incoming Freshman?
We use our summer season to reinforce proper mechanics and technique through our professional coaching all while focusing on gains in both power and speed. Showcase baseball is the perfect bridge for players making the transition from youth baseball to High School level play.
Do you have a Current Freshman?
We put our Freshman teams on College Fields across our state. They have opportunities to play in front of many college recruiters throughout the season. While it is possible your player has not yet reached their full potential, the experience alone is worth the season so they become accustomed to the field size, competitors strength all while they “get the jitters out”. Also this the MOST important time to get “noticed” if you want to play at the D1 level.
Do you have a Current Sophomore?
Our sophomore teams have the opportunity to play both 16u and 18u competition. This is the same as playing “up” to the varsity level. If your player desired to play varsity their junior year, there is not better experience than to play up during the summer to build confidence and skill. This is the MOST IMPORTANT season of showcase baseball of the player’s HS career. This is the year all college recruiters are looking to fill their rosters.
Do you have a Current Junior?
There is something special about the 17u program across the nation. We see draft-able players, committed D1 player, etc. as our competition. If you want to be the best, your have to see the best. While unsigned players their Junior year may have slim chance at a D1 school, there are still so many great options for a player. So use this time to get on the recruiters “radar” prior to your senior season.
Do you have a Current Senior?
It is not too late for your player. While is may seem scary to not have a plan yet after graduation, we have had great success with players and their families to navigate what is in their best interest and make connections with the college coaches themselves. Coach James has a unique relationship with college coaches, which sets UB apart from all other Showcase Programs.
