| To the new Polar Bear Scouts,
Congratulations on attaining the Polar Bear Award. I remember how cold it was, yet it was one of the most memorable weekend on my life. That is where I learned to make a sleeping bag sandwich with multiple hand warmers. I put a fleece blanket in my mummy bag sleeping bag, then I put the mummy bag inside another rectangular sleeping bag. An hour or so before going to bed, I opened several hand warmers and place them inside the sleeping bag. So my bed was warm when I went to bed. For added warmth during the day, I put on a back "pain" warmer. This kept me warm for hours.
