The skilled position players on both Clarkston and West Bloomfield’s offenses put on another dazzling display as the Lakers defeated the Wolves in a 35-21 Oakland Activities Association Red Division game.
Both teams entered halftime tied at 14. Trishton Jackson and the Laker offense repeated shredded the Clarkston defense and their motivation lifted a defense that was constantly challenged by a well coached Kurt Richardson offense. Last year's loss was avenged as the Lakers out scored the Wolves 21-7 in the second half. The defense stiffened and forced two critical turnovers that sealed the victory
This will likely be one of the most exciting football games in the state of Michigan this year.
West Bloomfield head coach Ron Bellamy is to be commended for his leadership and for knowing that this team has to exploit the read option with Jackson managing the offense. Skip the gimmicks and manage the clock - Coaches must improve and not extend the clock for the opposition.
