Been pretty quiet around here lately. I'm looking forward to this game for a couple reasons. I graduated from Lapeer West. But I'm from Clarkston now and looking forward to seeing if the new Lapeer High is ready for the big time.

All things considered, I don't think it's surprising that they have done well this year. They took two well-established programs and combined them for double the resources. It's not really a "first year program" like the Lapeer fans like to say. I just don't think they've faced any real adversity yet. Romeo was a middle-of-the-road MAC team. Flint C-A is good, but the Wolves trounced them pretty hard last year, while Lapeer "survived." Who else have they faced that compares to our OAA Red? I'm calling this one for Clarkston, and not just because I'm a homer.

I would like to see Calrkston win, just to set up a possible Clarkston WB rematch....
And then I would hope WB can pull off the upset....

I know we are getting ahead of ourselves, but the WB / Clarkston game would draw a huge crowd from neighboring towns.

Look I am not a huge lapeer fan at all,I am a Oxford Grad, truly disliked both lapeer schools when I played against them, they did not play anyone this year at all, There win against Romero was okay, Romero did not impress me when Oxford Beat them, and Clarkston is the best team overall in the state, lapeer does not stand a chance, it should not even be close. As for a clarkston / WB rematch, that would be nice to see, however in my opinion there is no discipline on WB, They commit stupid / dumb penalties and against a good team like clarkston in the playoffs that will hurt them. I am a believer is rooting for the OAA to win state title whoever it is....Seeing the west side of the state or Grand Rapids constantly win sucks....GO OAA......GO CLARKSTON.......Oxford Fan

I like that score, but what would really make me happy is a running clock.

I think your giving Lapeer too much credit, they don't score on Clarkston's starting D-.....only there second team once the games in hand.....

Oxford Dad -
You were spot on about WBHS - They were matched against a good defensive line in Walled Lake Central who consistently put 8 men in the box. That effectively shut down the Laker's running game. Additionally the defensive pressure created several opportunities for takeaways - The WB squad appeared to be not disciplined and took needless penalties and turnovers. I saw a Viking defense that was spirited but ready to fall had the correct calls been made. In two cases WB had receivers left uncovered but the offense was unable to capitalize. This team could have easily put up 45 points just on missed chances. It was brutal to just see this team not get into the dream match with Clarkston.

I salute both WB and Oxford as well as our opponents. It was truly a good run. Until that time when we (Dads) meet again - CHEERS ALWAYS!

I've got to give large props to Lapeer. They talked a big game but walked the walk last night.

I've seen a lot of schools travel well aka CC, Brother Rice, Rockford, etc. I must say that Lapeer is right there with the heavy weights in their first year of existence. They brought all of Lapeer county with them and were at least twice as loud as Clarkston's packed stands, which were silent most of the game.

Lapeer gave an all out effort on the field and managed to stay with the Wolves from start to finish.

The biggest story line in my opinion was the Clarkston quarterbacks careless ball handling. DJ made several poor decisions, two of which propelled Lapeer into the end zone. On the other side of the ball, a couple of Clarkston turnovers keep the Wolves out of the end zone as well.

Clarkston needs to have a solid week of focus and comeback strong against a very tough defensive team in Walled Lake Central.

Visualize it the way you want it.

Let's go OAA !
