After Saturdays announcements I really think New England should re-evaluate how they are called going foward. With no invites and for the most part only 4 teams in each division it didn't make any sense to hand out a trophy for all teams. It really took the fun and surprise out of it. Once you heard 3rd and 4th you knew you were going to Disney. In more than half of the divisions the 4th place team was standing with their trophy hysterically crying, posing for a picture.. They should really consider doing it differently in the future, for those who made it CONGRATS & GOODLUCK in Disney!

Agreed, I feel like the thought behind it might have been every team down their gets a trophy but the teams and coaches I am not sure see it that way. Although good intent it took a lot of the suspense and excitement away. To be honest in my opinion in this particular situation there should have just been first or second called. I am sure the staff was still stressed and worn out from the week before but to me it did not feel like new englands, no characters running around and no all i want for xmas either half I just felt the excitement was not there. Next year I think it would be a good idea to consider having one large new england competition and eliminate qualifers. Between the staff and the organizations competing a lot goes into it and 2 weekends in a row is so much. It would be cool to have one big cheerleading 2 day competition where its Jr Pee Wee and Pee Wee one day and Jr Midget and Midget the next day first and second head to disney no qualifying/inviting thats it. Again no mal intent towards the staff or Karen Pope as I know they work so hard on this competition just my opinion. Good luck to all the emass and New England teams representing at Nationals this year, bring home some trophies! :)

it used to be one major competition but it was rediclously long, i think two days is appropriate and fair. or simply cut out invites from local competions to cut down on teams.

Although I understand the comment, It has always been top 5 Trophy at Regionals. Unfortunately with only 4 in each division it did take the suspense away a little. I know they will talk about all the good and bad things about the competitions when they return from Nationals. Good Luck to all the New England teams heading to Disney.
