I hope everyone is excited for this upcoming season. I can't believe it starts in two weeks. How are peoples numbers looking for cheerleading teams?

Our numbers are dismal to say the least. We may only be able to field 3 younger teams this season, hoping that the procrastinators are coming out soon! I left Pop Warner in 2011 but am returning this season to assist my daughter who is head coaching for the first time. I am truly disappointed that this program I had been formerly involved with for 16 seasons has dropped its enrollment so drastically! I am in CT but nevertheless, I am excited to be back and hope that everyone has a great season! Ok, anyone else?

Do you think the drop in enrollment stems from the popularity of All Star cheer, changes in the Pop Warner program or just circumstances in general?

110% believe it has to do with All-Star!! Its one or the other! Kids choose All Star for the advancement

a lot of cities are losing Pop Warner to the Youth League, which me and my daughter are sad about our city ended their last season in 2011 and my daughter was devastated she loved it she refuses to do youth she didn't cheer at all in 2012 last year she went to a different city with one of her friends & this year one of her friends is just doing the All Star so she didn't want to do it in the different city without her friend which was actually a bit of a drive four days a week especially with homework and all of that. THE cheering in the Youth League the competitions are nothing like Pop Warner its sad that these kids are missing out on such a great experience and a great safe program, but I'm very pro Pop Warner, and she is not cheering at all this year I don't know if she'll do a half year all Star, but Pop Warner so I may be bitter towards the Youth League lol,,, if anyone is offended I apologize. and she probably will not be doing a half year allstar team because she usually ends up doing that because she is so sad that Pop Warner is over but who knows sorry for the long post I'm venting a bit. I miss it!
