Duchess power ahead with one loss in the last eight games to secure a first round bye, that was easy.

To say that all 12 teams " have a shot " would be misleading. Copious amount of good team. I say 6-8 have real shots, the others may only hope for some lucky breaks or pray for miracles.

First-time jitters. No one is immune. Be it a date, job interview or athletic competition, the first time can be the toughest time. To make life a bit easier for first-time participants in this year’s USPL playoffs. Can first-time players/ team handle the pressure?

Guys on MAS, DST, Duchess, Arms and DHR have won this trophy before. So these teams are excluded.

Team Carniey & Harding have loads of experience that will remove the butterfly from their stomach.

The trams griping the bats very very tight will
Starks, Beaver, MJC and of course Kelsey's.

I would tell first-time players that, mentally, they’ve got to stay in the game. Emotionally, they’ve got to stay in the game. You can’t get too high over a hit or too low over a error. You just got to keep plugging away, knowing that with every victory, you are closer to be crowned champion. My money would be on one of the top 8 teams.

I would tell players to relax and never think about what’s at stake. Just think about the beers after at Crosby. If you start to think about who is going to win the championship, you’ve lost your focus.

Everybody's different, of course, but generally speaking your goal on the diamond is to be both physically relaxed and mentally focused at the same time.

Physically relaxed enough so that you can swing through your at bats in a natural way. (If you are too tight, you will mess up your shots.)
Mentally focused so that you can concentrate on the job in hand. (If you are too casual, distracted, or lack concentration, you will make needless mistakes.)

If all fails have a pregamer.

Playing on the glare and condemnation of the roaring crowds at Crosby has always been a problem for many. If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

Playoff games at Crosby are very intimidating, the short fence, the crowd and the expectations of your teammates is overwhelming at times. The nerves get to some guys for sure.

Shoutout to my favorite Champs of all-time DST. A true, classy, cerebral team who just win. They performance on and off the field is unprecedented.

Look at my post above. All of the inexperienced teams went down often and early. Nerves were a big part of the results this past weekend. Learning how to win is a BIG challenge for most. Congrats to the winners!
