| The meeting in Dickson TN on Saturday October 29, went great! White House was approved for the Dixie Youth 7-8 State Baseball Tournament! Springfield also received a state tournament, along with Joelton. There will be 3 state tournaments at the same time on the north side of town. I am truly excited, this means a lot to the city of White House and the White House Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball organization. I expect that since these tournaments are in such close proximity to each other that the turnout will be much greater than is normally expected.
Just a little math. 16 teams 12 children on each team equals 192 children. Each team has 4 coaches, so that is 64 coaches. I have been told we could expect anywhere from 4 to 6 people for each child playing. Those totals are 768 (4) and 1,152 (6) respectively. We will also have many Dixie Officials and other people attending the games that do not have a child playing. The number of people visiting our city for such an event is truly staggering.
I am extremely excited about this opportunity to host this event as it will bring our city and organization to a new level. We have many opportunities with this tournament. We are allowed to send one all-star team to the State, so White House will have a team playing in the event.
As I find out more information, I will pass it along. The tentative date for the tournament is July 12, 2012.
