Mudcats win a tight one.
The Mudcats scored a run in the first inning as Casey Matthews scored from 1st on a Joe Lyman double. The Mariners tied the game in the third as Jarrad Page doubled in a run. Then in the fifth, the Mariners took a 3-1 lead on a Ryan Alvarado RBI single, and a Page ground out. Mariners starter Nick Satyal was keeping the Mudcats bats quiet with his assortment of off speed pitches. The 'cats scratched out a run in the 6th to make it 3-2. Then in the pivotal bottom of the 7th, still chasing a run, the Mudcats Michael Green hits an RBI 2-out double to tie the game, and then Ben Agatep followed with a single to put the 'cats ahead 4-3. The Mudcats added an insurance run in the 8th. For the Mudcats, starter Ben Jones went a strong 7 innings, only allowing 3 runs and striking out 9. And reliever, David White finished off with 2 scoreless to preserve the victory.
