Admiral Farragut Pulls Away to 9-3 Win over Radnor
After a slow start, Sydney Aljian's two out two run double scored Sophia Royle and Sarah Rosenblum to pull Radnor within 4-3 of host Admiral Farragut after the top of the 5th inning in St. Pete's Beach, FL. However, Farragut bunched three hits and three walks to score 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th and pulled away for the 9-3 victory.
Sophia Royle started in left field, and jump started the Raiders in the top of the 5th with a double over the left fielder's head for her first varsity hit. Congratulations! Sarah followed with a walk to get on base for the 2nd time after singling earlier in the game.
Admiral Farragut, who made the state semi finals in Florida last spring, moved to 10-5 on the season.
Brooke Nicander started and pitched well for the Raiders before running into trouble in the 5th inning. Still she allowed only 5 hits overall, three to the #3 hitter for the hosts. Libby Tewksbury finished up with a hitless 6th inning.
The Raiders will enjoy an off day tomorrow, before returning to Madeira Beach Complex to play Lake Highland Prep from Orlando, FL at 11 am on Wednesday.
