Bandits Win Championship in Nailbiter The Bandits were out hit by the Titans but solid pitching by Jeff Wells and nearly flawless defense allowed the Bandits to win the post season championship game 7 - 5. The Bandits struck early with two in the first and one in the 2nd, helped out by Titan errors in both innings. Two more Titan errors allowed two more Bandits to cross the plate in the 4th to put the Bandits up 5 - 1. The Titans got their bats working in the 6th after Wells tired at 5 2/3 innings and was relieved by Jeff Gould. 4 straight hits off Wells and Gould including a double by Dave Loyola followed by a Pablo Raya single put the Titans down by one. But the Bandits came back in the 8th with two more in the 8th, again on two Titan errors followed by a clutch triple by pinch hitter Ruben Mas. The Bandits carried a 7 -4 lead into the 9th only to see the Titans leave the tying run at 2nd as Gould got the last Titan batter to ground out to veteran Mark Gorman. A great finish for the Bandits after capturing first place in regular season play and a great battle by the 2nd place Titans.
