Radnor Jumps on Conestoga, Holds on for 7-5 Win!

Radnor's bats woke up as the Raiders jumped out to a 7-0 lead over host Conestoga, and held on for a 7-5 win.

After Audrey Rosenblum led off the game with a walk, Quinn Tobias followed with an infield single. Brooke Nicander then smoked a two run double over the centerfielder's head. Sophia Royle finished the scoring by driving in courtesy runner Kim Mullarkey with a one out single.

And the Raider's weren't done. After Brooke opened the game pitching with three perfect innings, Katy O'Sulivan led off the top of the 4th with a single. Carolyn Eckstein followed with a well-earned full count walk, and Sarah Rosenblum put down a perfect bunt to load the bases. With one out, Quinn drove in a run with a fielders choice and was herself safe at 1B, and then Brooke again had a big two run hit, this time driving a single past the second baseman. The final run scored on a perfectly executed double steal, with Kim getting thrown out at 2B allowing Quinn to score from 3B.

Conestoga, a hot team that had beat Springfield 6-0 the day before, chipped away with single runs in the 4th and 5th innings with one hit in each inning, before bunching three hits and 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th. However, pitcher Brooke and the Radnor defense were up to the task in the 7th to close out the game, with a fine play by Sydney D'Entremont - starting at 3B for the first time - to end the game.

Brooke finished the day 2 for 4, with a run scored and 4 RBIs, while Quinn had 1 hit, scored 2 runs and drove in a run.

Brooke pitched a complete game for the win, knocking off her Mom's alma mater (and her coach's) for the third straight year! She allowed only 5 hits and one walk, while striking out 2 batters.

Radnor ended a 3 game losing streak, and moved to 5-6 on the year. Radnor has four games in the upcoming week of 5/1.
