Athletics Almost Erase 5-Run Deficit In Loss To Terriers!

Terriers built a five-run lead in the third inning and then held off Allegheny Athletics's charge for an 8-6 victory on Sunday. Allegheny Athletics scored three runs in the failed comeback on a groundout in the fifth, a single by Nathan Owen in the sixth, and a walk by Dan Trettel in the sixth.

An early lead helped propel Terriers to victory. Terriers scored on a wild pitch in the first inning, a double by Jon Conkle in the first inning, a single by Mitch Balla in the first inning, a double by Jake Miller in the first inning, a triple by Evan Maley in the second inning, and a double by Will Haueter in the second inning.

Terriers captured the lead in the first inning. A wild pitch by James Trainor scored one run for Terriers.

Chandler Stahl earned the win for Terriers. He threw five innings, giving up four runs, one hit, and striking out four. Trainor took the loss for Allegheny Athletics. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs, and five hits.

Terriers collected eight hits. Balla and Miller each collected multiple hits for Terriers. Miller and Balla all had two hits to lead Terriers.
