As day two dawned on the 2006 Empire Cup Premier Tournament, early morning heat, perfectly clear skies, and temperatures soaring into the nineties made it clear that the weather would force water breaks into the day's games. Commack was clearly ready to play as Nicky hit a post in the opening minute as the Blasters played a high pressure game against their CDYSL ODP opponents. Eleven minutes into the half, Katie scored on an assist from Liz for a 1-0 lead.

That thin lead was doubled in the second half's twelfth minute as Katie scored her second of the game assisted by Saulty. Five minutes later, the Commack high pressure attack saw LB score on an assist from Nicky. The scoring closed with six minutes remaining as Jen Brennan got her first assist with the Blasters as Nicky finished a fabulous cross for a 4-0 final score.

Meredith played well on the outside midfield and during a forward rotation while Tori pushed up the field exceptionally well. Defensively, Brooke in sweeper and Ashley as stopper controlled the middle while Campy, LB, Jen M., and Gina took turns on the defensive flanks. Sara controlled the goal area strongly in this first match of day two.
