Despite the 1W-1L-1T record coming into the final match of the round robin tournament, the Commack Blasters were very much alive for first place in the Ruby Flight of the 2006 MAPS/MSSL Girls Winter College Showcase Tournament. A Commack win over Baltimore, combined with a Wall Power win over Stonybrook, would result in a three-way 2W-1L-1T first place tie with the tie breakers favoring Commack.

Unfortunately, the Blasters did not get a chance to play out that scenario in the tournament's final game as the clean sheet recorded defensively was not rewarded with any offensive goals, resulting in a 0-0 final game. The result saw Commack finish in second place as Stonybrook defeated Wall in the round robin's last game. The tie-breaker for second between Commack and Baltimore (total goal differential, +4 to -4 per game) favored the Blasters, 1-0.
