While temperatures sank to the high thirties, the Commack Blasters moved to the Hofstra University Field Hockey Turf field for their second match of the 2007 National Elite Women's Soccer Showcase. Two first half goals paved the way to a clean sheet 2-0 win over the CUFC team from Connecticut.

Good action on both sides of the ball punctuated the first half. In minute twenty-seven, a shot from Kiersten was deflected and found Gina on the outside. Gina's quality shot found Saulty inside the eighteen and the deflection scored for a 1-0 advantage. Six minutes later, a set piece from 45 yards out was sent into the box by Ashley, perfectly placed under the crossbar for a 2-0 halftime advantage.

Defensively, LB, Jen, Ashley, and Liz were strong in front of Sara in the second half as a couple of strong CUFC chances were shot wide. Midfielders were strong in the second half against the taller CUFC midfielders.

Following the first day's action, Commack stood at 1W-1L-0T (3 points) with 4GF/3GA and a showdown matchup with Albertson on the morning horizon.
