ASSAULT SEAL SECOND PLACE-The Assault sealed second place and capped a great season with an impressive 6-3 victory. Matthew H. lead the Assault with 4 goals and an assist on a beautiful goal from a cross converted by Danny for his second header of the season. Danny added an assist and Charlie's goal gave the Assault a 4-3 lead before Matthew netted 2 insurance goals. Billy won all the balls in the middle and support from Matt W and Shaun helped robert record his teams 6th victory. Contributions by Dylan, Alif, Brandon, Jake and Josh rounded out another team effort. Trainer Freddy did right by the boys and thanks to him. It was a blast and see you all soon again on the pitch.
ASSAULT BOUNCE BACK-The Assault were propelled by a Charlie hat trick, his second of the season and scored a 4-1 victory. Another fine game as these boys have made a huge jump and had a great season. The finale on Saturday will decide second place in this division. With the win today the Assault are gauranteed a 3rd place finish. Good Luck on Saturday!!!
UNBEATEN STRING STOPPED AT 5-The Assault had their league unbeaten string stopped at 5 by club rival Avengers. The Assault had numerous chances but were their only goal came on a penalty kick conversion by Matthew H. Congratulations to the Avengers and the Assult will look to start another streak next week.
ASSAULT GO 2-2 AT COMMACK-The Assault, playing at a bit higher competition level had a sucessful tournament. Highlights included 2 clean sheets by Robert, a highlight film header that capped a hat trick by Danny, a three goal tournament by Alif, three converted corner kicks on placements from Matthew H., goals by Jake, Matthew W. and Shaun. Stellar defensive play by Billy and fine efforrts by Charlie, Dylan and Josh and Brandon also contributed. Keep up the good work and have fun!!!
HAT TRICK PROPELS ASSAULT-The assault capped by a game winning goal by Dylan were propelled by a hat trick and beautiful game winning assist from Charlie on May 20th. Nice passing an assists from Josh, Danny and Matt W. helped Charlie net the 3 goals. The assault were down twice in this game and 2 late goals at the end helped seal the victory and extend the unbeaten streak to 5 games. Nice saves by Robert kept the Assault in the game and Shaun, Matthew H., Brandon also contributed to the victory. Congratulations!!!!
A MOTHER"S DAY PRESENT A DAY EARLY-The Assault won on the day before Mother's day by a score of 5-1 and now are unbeaten in 4 games. Alif had a 2 goal game and everyone had nice contributions. Danny started the scoring and Shaun and Charlie also added goals. Nice teamwork and passwork all game long resulted in many goals and scoring opportunities. Brandon, Matt W. and Matt H. nice passing netted them an assist each. Great defensive efforts by Billy, Josh, Dylan and Robert in goal was also complimented by Jake up front. HAPPY MOTER"S DAY Mom's!!!!!
ASSAULT PUT OUT THE FLAMES-The Assault marked the ocasssion of Josh's birthday and the return of Dylan by recording a "clean sheet" 2-0 victory against a high scoring opponent on May6th. A scoreless first half turned to a 1-0 Assault lead on a nice play from Matt W converted by Charlie. Later after stellar defense led by Billy and Robert in goal, Charlie crossed to Matthew H. for a boot from outside the goal box which caught the right corner. A total team effort including hustle and nice play from Jake, Danny, Alif, Brandon, Josh, Dylan and Shaun had the boys running on the field after the final whistle to celebrate. Keep smiling and having fun!!!
FIT TO BE TIED-The Assault took a 1-0 early goal to the last minute of the game before Little Neck was able to tie the game on April 29th. A nice pass from Matt W. was converted by Shaun for his first goal of the season. The Assault had the better of play and numerous chances to increase the lead before the last minute dissapointmnet. Keep up the good work boys and it will all come together for you.
COMEBACK WIN EVENS RECORD-The Assault stunned ther opponents today (April 1st) after themselves being set back to start the second half. A 1-0 lead on Jake's goal disappeared to a 2-1 defict before Charlie tied the game on a 3 player-touch goal and nice assist from Matt W. A converted free kich by Matthew H. to the upper left corner of the goal gave the Assault the lead before Matthew H. added his second of the game to seal the deal. Goal saving play by Josh, nice play by Shaun and Robert in goal all conributed to the win.
HERE IS TO A FUN AND SUCCESSFUL SPRING SEASON. GO GET EM ASSAULT!!!!!
