Due to the limited number of available GTSC fields and referees,
this policy will be
followed for games scheduled to be played on GTSC fields.
1.
Regularly scheduled games
can only be “officially” cancelled by the referee or by the field owner. Reasons for game cancellation may
include, but not limited to:
lightning, hail, field condition, etc.
2.
Officially cancelled
games can be rescheduled, at the coaches request, through the GTSC referees
coordinator.
3.
In the event that one or
both coaches decide not to play due to inclement weather, other event conflicts,
not enough players, etc., the game will be deemed “unofficially” cancelled and
no make-up referee or field time will be subsequently provided.
4.
The GTSC Referees
Coordinator will timely notify the Coaches Coordinator of any cancellations
and/or rescheduled make-up games in order that the Coaches Coordinator can
notify the affected coaches (including scheduled practices on a particular
field).
5.
Regularly scheduled
practices should not be involuntarily interrupted due to make-up games or
scrimmages resulting from unofficially cancelled games.
GTSC does not have control over how other area clubs handle cancellations and/or make-up games on their fields. Therefore, GTSC coaches should communicate GTSC policy during any cancellation discussions involving our fields and may follow other area club policies involving their fields.
