Remember our journey thru the "AND NOW WE ARE ONE" and how your on-ice play was so quick & unselfish??HARD PLAY &SHARING THE PUCK was lacking,forwards were not in L&R lanes, defense were lazy & not hard on clearing the defensive zone fast & the goalies were not given PROTECTION by elinminating the shooters.I know coach Janes is working with you on these points so look forward to see your BEST TEAM play.WINK'S TIP:THE TOUGHER THE JOB,THE GREATER THE REWARD.BE READY!! |

Hope all the'97 players, parents & fans are watching the WINTER GAME in CHICAGO CUBS field where the Wings&Hawks are having fun.These players do a lot of tricks that you players are using.So,let me share this with you.The Sun game against Belle Tire was the best performance I've seen IN 2 years.Moving the puck ahead fast,forwards playing positions right, so puckman has a minimum of two options.And, now we have Tyman on the wing to hit & score goals &The New Pitbull,Frankie Melton throwing big hits at the puck carrier AND 2 Bigtime goalies to shut the door.There is more to learn,so,hear this now--"In hockey,it is better to give hits rather than receive them".Keep up the good work.Did you know all of you have helped Jordy become an ALLSTAR this week-end??

And if you'll not settle for anything lessthan the best,you will be amazed at how much you can do with your lives.MORE WINS,better performances by the team. "I think this consistant unwillingness to settle for anything less than excellence" was the reason his teams were also "AND NOW WE ARE ONE" winning teams.Think about it as you prepare for SARNIA. Betty & I wish to thank you all for your support to Dave, Karen, Zach & Hannah after this unfortunate "injury" to Willy.The first reports were handled by Nurse Betty & Dave as I pondered about "WHY".Perhaps it is time for the boys to wear neck-guards,(manditory in Ontario).But the real answer came on the telephone(WILLY)from the emerge room saying I'm OK,POP!But the REAL message came from all you parents & players, with kindness & prayers I'm told. Heck one parent came to the Hospital with her player son & cookies,right away!Many of you responded with the same concern as Tim Kelly & David. That is awesome!Now, Austin,David & Zach,perhaps you can feel the real meaning of "AND NOW WE ARE ONE"as you & your team-mates prepare your report with your parents help. Thanks for great support! Entry ID: 1275544 | I'd like to express my happiness and appreciation in regards to the near tragedy with Jacob "Willy" Wilson. As I'm sure everyone knows by now, Jacob was cut by a skate blade in the neck area at one of our recent games. Jacob quickly got to the bench. The coaches immediately applied pressure to the cut to stop the loss of blood. A 911 call was made immediately to dispatch an ambulance to the ice rink. As for myself, I was running around in circles wanting to do anything to help, but didn't know what to do. Fortunately, Jacob is expected to make a quick and full recovery even though his jugglar vein was nicked. It was very evident that Jacob's team mates were extremely concerned, and then very relieved when they saw Jacob the next morning when he came to the game to watch his team play. Willy, your teammates are looking forward to you returning to the line up, and EVERYONE is happy that you're okay!!! |

Looking at the score sheets from each game I can see balanced scoring from all three lines, great defense, penalties kept to a minimum and superb goalkeeping. That comes from hard, tough practices, a team first attitude and focus in the games. All of that comes directly from the coaching staff led by Coach Brown. All in all a great effort. I can't wait to see what Professor OTH (Old Time Hockey) Wink has to say.
Look forward to seeing all the guys this week.
