Entry ID: 1977525 | I am so happy to see that the Brandywine Invitational is still going strong. This tournament was always one in which the kids enjoyed playing. When I started this tournament back in 1990 as an extention to season play and with the idea of giving players the allstar experience, I never thought it would go on this long. Now over 20 years and still going, this tournament continues to give that all-star experience to players as well as coaches. There is nothing more satisfying to me than to see the players enjoy the sport of baseball and the lessons that are learned from this great sport. Thank you to players, coaches, umpires, team moms, concession stand workers and all parents for continuing this tournament. |

Entry ID: 1969611 | Where can I find the dimensions for AA/AAA? How far from the mound to the plate? The national rules vary and some of it is really vague. Perhaps this should be something that is part of the web page?? |

Entry ID: 1902741 | As a team "Uncle" in Bristol, this year I drew the DE champs. It's my first DE team since 1989 when I hosted BRANDYWINE. Great bunch of kids. I hope the DE I meet in 4 days is as enjoyable. I remember Coach Deldeo and players Deldeo, Evan Ciabattoni, Brendan Dennealey, Dave Palermo, Darren Dombrowski, Ryan Victgor, Denny Giles, Chad Bowers, Josh Jacobs, Joe Mattair, Jay Hays, Andy Resini, Tom Tray, Bryan Bickling, & Kevin Fitzpatrick. If any of them are around, tell them Uncle Ron said hello.
That team came one game from going to Williamsport. And that's when we only sent one team. Today they would have been MidAtlantic champs as only CT beat them.
I've been looking on line to see who's coming from DE. Could it be BRANDYWINE?

Entry ID: 1849413 | To the Lawson Family To the ones we grew up with and learned to love and call our sports family,,, We are so saddened by the news that touched us all on Sunday an have trouble finding the words to come next. when we think of the Funny, laughing character we have known named Jordan, he was indead a true fighter on and off the fields we met him at. As we remember well how our son brandon and Jordan played together on football and baseball fields an became good friends we will always smile when we think of how Jordan & Brandon seemed to think they owned the games they played in and in so many ways they did, we certainly will miss his strong will around us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you for the blessings to help carry you through this difficult time of need. God Bless. |

Entry ID: 1849168 | The Klusmans will never forget Jordan's good natured "swagger" and never-give-up attitude. He made us all smile any time we saw him. I, personally, will never forget when Jordan was called in to pitch in a crucial game for the Majors' playoffs and never faltered or let the opponent see him sweat! What a hero, what a great kid. Our hearts, prayers and thoughts are with the Lawsons who showed us how to live each moment to the fullest and appreciate the blessings we have right in front of us every day. God bless Jordan. |

Entry ID: 1803279 | Kudos to the Brandywine Major All Stars and their coach. On Saturday June 26 in their game against Stanton Newport the astoundishing score doesn't even begin to reflect how big of win it was. When victory was evident at 15-0 the coach held each player to advancing only one base each time. Not once did a player seem bothered that his stats were being tainted. This did not go unnoticed by the Stanton Newport crowd. A true CLASS ACT !!!!!!
Best of Luck in the tournament. |

Entry ID: 1789780 | In response to the question about BLL players in pro or college ball:
I only can think of one who played pro ball: Tim Bittner who played at Marist college and was drafted by the White Sox in the 10th round in AAA. He advanced as high as AAA.
Others I know of that played college baseball (I'm estimating on the years and this is by no means a comprehensive list):
Matt Day - York College (PA) - 1998-2001
Darryl Holcomb - U of D, U of Rhode Island - 2002-2006
Brent Rogers - U of D - 2002-2006
Dan Santobianco - James Madison - 2003-2007
Greg Marcin - Philadelphia University - 2003-2006
Jeff Moore - York College (PA) - 2002-2005
Scott Day - York College (PA) - 2002-2005
Mike Welch - York College (PA) - 2003-2006
Rob Bittner - Guilford College (NC) - 2003-2006
Alex Ogilvie - somewhere in Colorado - 2003-2006
Holcomb and Rogers were on the District team that went to Regionals in CT in 1995.
The next 7 players on the list were on the District team that went to Regionals in CT in 1996.
Holcomb, Rogers, Moore, Welch, and Ogilvie were on the Senior All-stars that went to the Senior World Series in FLA in 1998.
