The Fridge Claremont, CA November 10, 2009 10:00:04 AM
Entry ID: 1728450 | Hello Wolfpack Family,
Words cannot express our gratitude to all of you for your concern and support. To the Jr Midget teamates who, from day one always prodded and encouraged Blair to work hard, and keep up. We've seen so many of you give him the nudge on the shoulder to keep going when he was about to give up, and we've heard about that special group of friends who kept him from eating a lunch that would have sabotaged his weight loss. You are magnificent! To the coaches who convinced Blair that he had what it took to be part of the Wolfpack and kept working with him to build his confidence and game. And, most importantly, to Ulises and Jerry, you two genuinely care about these young men and always, always have their best interest at heart. A huge thank you to everyone of you.
"The Fridge" is doing better today. He's planning on cheering you all on at the Homecoming game next Sunday so we'll see you then.
The Wolfpack is a special organization with special, dedicated people giving of themselves. We are proud to be part of the Wolfpack Family.
In the meantime,
Go Wolfpack!!!!!

I would like to send a "shout out" to all coaches and volunteers!
So much of what you do is taken for granted, and I'm not talking about the coaching part of the game I'm talking about the "life lessons" you have to contantly remind yourselves are important! The kids that have issues in life that are more important than the actual game.
The fact that you are dedicating so much time away from your own kids and family. The fact that you transport kids to and from practice and games, the fact that you step up when others don't, the fact that you teach the game of football, and in some instances, you also teach the game of life, the fact that you spend your money to make this an enjoyable season for your players.
You do all of this, for free! You ask nothing in return but the respect of your kids and your peers. This is definitely not asking much. And for all you do, sometimes it's overshadowed by winning and losing.
I have been fortunate enough to win a lot of the time. History dictates that won't always be the case. I hope that my team will compete for the championship this year. That being said, "who knows"!
I do know this, there are some good coaches out there struggling. Struggling with the "win and loss thing"!
When your winning, your a genius, when your losing, your an idiot! Everyone can do your job better than you, just ask them, they'll let you know!
I would like to send some love to all coaches, but in particular, the coaches that are not having that winning season, because the season becomes a long, hard grind when your not winning.
People looking in from the outside don't care how any young players you have, or how many first year players you have. They don't care about how many running backs you have. Many times, they only care about winning and losing.
This cannot be the message we send to our kids! Most of the kids will not win each and every year, and that has to be ok, because none of us win every day, or every week in life!
We must teach the kids the fundamentals of the game. We must teach them that winning is great and the ultimate goal, but we are not judged just when we're winning, but what makes up our character is how we handle adversity and defeat!
If you should fail, you get back up and continue to give 100% so that the chance of failing diminishes over time.
So much of these "life lessons" are lost in the mix, and I truly hope everyone that reads this post understands what I'm talking about.
Please support your coaches and your kids. If you don't support them all, you don't support any!
The coaches on the teams that are not doing well need everyone's support much more than the teams that are winning!
So, in closing, MUCH LOVE to all that volunteer and make a difference!
Your efforts are always appreciated, and NEVER forgotten!
