http://walk.kidney.org/site/TR/Walk/General?px=1422371&pg=personal&fr_id=1730 Alright guys, I signed up for the National Kidney Foundation's Kidney Walk at Seneca Park Zoo on 9/26. I need sponsors, or you could even walk too. Any little bit will help me. I am doing this in memory of my dad who passed on 3/22/06. He was a big part of East Harlem Little League and I think he would be happy that I participated in this walk. You can click the link below to donate money or time, and please pass on the link so we can help the NKF

I have been a part of the East Harlem Little League family since I was 9 years old. I am 25. I came in to play with the Braves, and am probably the worst baseball player in the world. My dad, Richie "Minno" Vega, started the league as a coach that year so we could bond, I guess. I quit because I was bad at it, but my dad didn't. He went on to be a coach, a Supervisor, Vice President, President, and a member of the board before he passed on. His very heart and soul was in this league and being there for the kids. I grew up on that field. I made friends that I will never forget, and some of these people I consider family. I learned life lessons on that field about boys, friendship, and teamwork. My dad once rewarded me with the plaque for Jr. Vice President because I helped him with paperwork and stood by him just to give him kid's names. He was horrible with names. Before we lost our field on 112th street, which was just dirt when we started, I stood in front of everyone who needed to know and gave a speech about why we needed to keep our home. East Harlem Little League came home with us every night. There were phone calls from kids, coaches, and parents. There was also my dad talking about it non-stop. I can't be there now because I am too far away, but my dad is always there! I believe he still watches the kids play and yells at the umps from Heaven. East Harlem Little League will always be a part of me and my mom! I love it and may it be there to help the children of our community learn the lessons I did for years to come.

Congratulations on your beautiful new field. I hope you will have many happy years playing baseball in East Harlem. The children of the community must be so happy. It is impressive how you were able to reach out to so many to get this accomplished.

The east harlem little league means a lot to to the kids of our community. The little league experience is a most rewarding and long lasting adventure that can last a life time. Most professional athlete will away remember the times of their youth but especially their little league teams in which they play for .It does not matter which sport they now played for like basketball,or football they always go back to baseball as the best time of their lives.Baseball is a game of focus and concentration due to the fact that it is slower and most player have to stay alert. It easy to loss the focus but like sitting in a classro0m the kids must pay attention.Concentration is an art which has been loss in modern time due to a fast moving life style.Baseball has mastered this art and will help all kids .Viva East harlem

This is my second year as a Team parent & my first year as a staff member of the Board. I'm the Asst. registration secretary for Noemi H. Ramos, who is the Registration Secretary of EHLL. I enjoy working with the kids in the league & above all helping those who need my assistance. My son, Ismael Jose Carrero is with the "Pirates", & he loves baseball. I'm looking forward for our son to be one of the best baseball player of all time.I know this year will be a better year for all of us especially for our kids.......

Can you feel the season coming? I can sense the energy in the air, in the smell of the park, the trees coming to life, the wind brushing that cool much needed breeze to alleviate the strong rays of the sun as we all come to partake in our National Pastime, the Great Game of Baseball. I just wanted to take the time and present myself, my love and my enthusiam for this game that I love so much. I am so looking forward to my first year as Manager of the Astros in the Minors Division. My goal this year and every year that I coach or manage is to pass on the knowledge, the passion, the discipline, the fundamentals, the sportsmanship, but above all the love of the game. I want to give back to this generation what was given to me by my elders. So here's to a great season of Teaching, Learning and Winning because in the end and even before the season starts We all have already Won by having East Harlem Baseball up and running for the Kids of Today to be able to have thier Own Field of Dreams and hopefully one day one of our own kids dreams will come true. So here's to East Harlem, the Parents devotion and love for their kids and the league and last but not least but to our kids, our future All Stars. May God Bless us all this season! Let's Play Ball!
