Great defensive first half against the run,but were there any adjusted predictions to what SP would do the 2nd half? Just wondering.Where would you rank SP compared to Dorsey,Edison, and Amat? Good luck in league season and a speedy recovery to any injured player.

"Wow" I just heard the news that today Garfield has once again been shutout. Man its been two years agains Amat that Garfield hasnt scored, I even read the article where they say it was Garfields offense who would carry this years team but as you can see it wasnt that way. I truly believe its the culture on the offensive side. The defense has awlays played very well and that has to be how the culture on that side is ran... What i mean by culture is what all the student athelets know whats expected of them when they are in the football team. I suppose that on the defensive side is discipline, physical, discipline, stingy, discipline and hardwork. In other words take no S**T. Every year that defense puts up good performances, and the Offense???????? NO show........ My opinion is change the culture on offense and im sure it will get better. It starts at practice and Im sure it will show on game day.

Good game against Carson you played your hearts out and it hurts to let go of Garfield Football for you seniors. It's like a break up. Never do you have anyone more involved in your life than football during highschool for you seniors. Morning Noon and Night. Morning conditioning Noon Meetings and Practices and when you go home at night it's all you think about. All Day Every Day. It hurts to just let something go like that but at least you got each other. You gotta continue to take the lessons you learned and be successful with everything you do.Good Luck to the bulldogs next season!

Great victory Bulldogs. Your first Division I playoff victory. Now it's time to get back to work as you will face one your toughest challenges to date. Carson is an exceptional team but so are you. The Offensive and defensive line are big and most play both ways. They have a balanced offensive attack passing yards and rushing yards are almost identical. They are also very athletic but nothing you haven't seen yet in your pre season. Stick to your running game and control the time of possession to keep Carson's high scoring offense off the field. Sometimes your best defense is your offense. Limit the pass game as Carson's corners are very athletic and can get after the ball. There offense is nothing out of the ordinary but do put up a lot of points. Stop the run game and force the pass. You will do fine don't let anything intimidate you they are just another team standing in the way of your championship. Play hard because it's win or go home. Make History!

Great game!!! We were at the edge of our seats with this game. Talk about intense. Both teams played their hearts out. But at the end, there's always one winning team. GO BULLDOGS!!!

Good job winning yesterday! You guys played a good not great game lots of minor mistakes. But a win is a win congratulations Eastern League Champs. Now you have playoffs and you've been matched up with Granda Hills-Kennedy. There defense is not great giving up 250 plus yards of offense a game. Specially in the running game. There offense can score if given the chance. Establish a good running game early get both Fernandez and Cazales started and you will be unstoppable. Limit your passing by picking up the majority of the yards on 1st and 2nd down to put your self in a manageable 3 and short situation and this will take some pressure off your QB. Defense has to be discipline with Saucedo's questionable status you will need outstanding play from Arceo at the Defensive End position which he is capable of. The lineman are big averaging a 6'1 stature and 250lbs. To counter it you might want to go with more size in the interior if the more speedier d line don't work. Garfield should have victory and I expect them too against Kennedy. Good Luck And Practice Hard. It's now or never!

It will be a hard fought game. Other comments post that Garfield will win because SE lost to Roosevelt and Garfield beat Roosevelt. Well, an argument can also be said, that Garfield beat HP 3-0 and SE beat HP 45-7, so...does that mean that SE will beat Garfield? NO! Records are out the window...Both are playing for a league title for a Reason..they are both GOOD! Good Luck to both teams tomorrow night. Keep it clean and my the best team win!

Come on really you think that . . . South East has the best Running Back in the Eastern League cant no other running Back does what he does and the passig game is just great . . . yea roosevelt won because the refs cheated and was calling everything back and not calling touchdowns when in fact they were . . . Garfield is good with respect but South East is good also give credit when its due we will see this friday who the league championship goes too and dont forget about that stingy south east defense

@ElSecreto Don't be stupid now you know Garfield's defense is always legit. They are not going to get ran on by some pathetic *** running back and altra garbage o line specially when they have only been allowing about maybe 20 rushing yards a game. And what you talking about too many offensive weapons seems to me like you've been playing too many garbage teams? And South East did get beat by Roosevelt right? Just making sure because Garfield just took down Roosevelt on the biggest stage and they played outstanding as a defense. As far as the supposed interception machine goes you can't blame him for making mistakes like that what did you expect he is very young and it's his first year playing Varsity Football. And you aren't about to make him look like no fool because Garfield's defense is got his back. And so does the running game and the o line with a running back who just came off a 171 yard performance. And a defensive end who is tied for 2nd in the state in sacks with 17 and you know about the tackling machines aka linebackers Levi Peralta,Hector Casalez, and Valles. And you know you aren't going to beat the big daddys you couldn't beat Narbonne or Roosevelt and you best believe Garfield is a million times better all day!. Hard working individuals who aren't going to be denied the league championship come friday is what garfield is.

w/o Jessie Lira playing for Roosevelt, your defense succeeded last Friday. This is not the case this week. Your interception machine will be the deciding factor. Too many weapons on the South East offense.

Tips: This week you have the most difficult of all the challenges you face this year. This week you will battle against South East for the Eastern League Championship. The Jaguars have a consistent running attack with Junior Running Backs Robert Lewis and Christopher Ochoa who both average around 7 yards a carry. But not only do the Jags have a good running game but also have an exceptional aerial attack in Gilberto Rivera, a Junior QB who has passed the millennium mark in passing yards. The receptionist of most of these yards are Samuel Encarnacion and Robert Lewis. Lewis is there main go to guy so eliminate him and you'll be one step closer to that Championship. Up front at the O Line you will face your typical lineman nothing you haven't seen yet. They are adequate size and will get after you if you let em. As a defense they play great and are well coached. You need to establish a run game just like you did in the classic with Lance Fernandez who carried the ball 22 times for 171 yards in last week's game. As for your passing game try to give your young QB Nicki Peralta some help give him basic plays where he only has to read half of the field and keep it really basic. Combinations like a fade and out are very common and will be easy throws and read for Peralta. You might also want to try and run a flood. As for the defense keep playing fantastic as you have. Get after the QB early, blitzing on 1st and 2nd quarter might help you set up South East for a long 3rd and long situation where they are deemed to make mistakes. But you must win 1st and 2nd in order to do that. Do not let Lewis get started stop the run game early make them throw and put pressure on them to make bad decisions. Pre Season All City Defensive End Moses Saucedo should have a field day with the offensive lineman. Try to implement a spread look offense to prepare for playoffs in game winning situations. GOod luck BUlldogs !
