I guess between the Swine Flu and the rain, it wasn't meant for us to play this weekend. I guess the break was good. Let's practice hard the next two weeks and head to Tennessee and see what we can do up there. Play on and pray on!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep working hard boys, this kid pitch will take some time. I saw a lot of improvement this weekend from Friday night to Sunday's games. There is a lot to learn, so everybody show up with a learning attitude and the Pirates will be sailing again soon. Maybe we can find some good weather and get some practicing done. Play on and pray on!!!

Congratulations Pirates on winning second place in silver this weekend!!That was the silver lining on a gray cloud of baseball. This first year of player pitch baseball is going to be very looooong. We all just need to settle in and realize that it will be that way. We are going to need a ton of patience with the players and the coaches as we will all be learning together as a team. It is as if we are learning a whole new game that we aren't going to able to master overnight. Personally, I think the boys are responding well and it shouldn't take us very long before we will be as competitive as I know they can be. Overall, this weekend was a very positive experience, and we need to learn and grow and apply what we have learned to the next tourney. I am very proud of how we kept our heads up in those close games and pulled out a couple of well deserved victories! GO PIRATES!!

I think I would have this website licked if only I could spell everyone's name right!!I agree with the other coaches with how well we did on Saturday against the Knights. There was a tremendous amount of positive aspects to the scrimmage that by far outweighed the negative. As coaches, we took notes, and we will be working on these opportunities at practices. I would say that a majority of these are just mental mistakes made from being new to kid pitch. This is on the coaches part as well as the players. These can be fixed. As Coach Pat said, we have an enormous amount of talent this year, and we should adapt well. I am very proud of how we looked Saturday, as well as I'm sure every parent is. come to practice ready to learn and we will develop into a force to be reckoned with.GO PIRATES!!

Well boys you all were looking extremely great for a scrimage with only one outdoor practice under your belt this year. Seen things we need to work on and really focus on more than others but nothing we cant get done. I believe we have a good solid group of kids this year that have great abilities and attitudes. This whole year will be a learning point for kids pitch its very difficult making the transaction years. Everyone be patient with the kids as well as the coaches(haha). Gary thanks for the pictures that got took and the website is looking good. Everyone put out 110% at practice and listen more than you talk and you will become the athlete you wanna be. GO PIRATES!!!!!!

Not a bad practice game yesterday. You guys were a little rusty, but with a little work we will be fine. I thought you guys did good in the field and will do better with your hitting the more practice you get hitting off another kid. Gary, thanks for taking the pictures. Maybe the weather for our first two tournaments will be as nice as yesterday. Thanks to the Knights, those boys are growing up. We've all come a long way from the t-ball days. Play on and pray on!!!!!!!!!!!!

You boys looked good on the field on Saturday and the indoor practices are looking good also. All you boys seem fired up this year and excited about kid-pitch. I know it will be a challenge and maybe us parents can be a little more patient with you, but I can't make any guarantees. It was tough losing some old Pirates this year and we wish them and their families all the best in all they do. I would also like to welcome Jordan and his family to the Pirates. Maybe we can talk Rod into taking over the chaplain duties this year. Play on and pray on !!!!!!

It's time to shake off the frost and warm up those bats. By now, all of you should start making sure your cleats still fit and those gloves are soft. Get outside on the warmer days and start to retrain those arms for throwing and catching. Wii baseball does not count!! We have alot of work to do this spring, and we need to be getting ready now at home, so we don't have to fall back in our coaching. We all now how to throw the ball correctly and make good bat swings. The added bonus this year is pitching. We are going to need as many good arms as we can get. Start working on your consistency. This is more important than speed. Once our aim is consistent, the speed will come. Also, put down those video game controllers and get outside and run. We are going to need some blistering speed for base running. Bottom line, start practicing. I'm ready for another great winning season, and can't wait to see all of you out on the field!! GO PIRATES GO!!!
