Just wanted to let you know we really enjoyed playing in the tournament this weekend. Everything went real smooth and you were very organized. Especially wanted to recognize the umpires that worked our games. They were top notch and called great games. One of the best groups that we have been around. I am one of the coaches from the Texas Storm. I just wanted to email you and thank you for the opportunity this past weekend and to tell you how much I appreciate the work of the two umpires at the tournament. The two gentlemen that worked the championship game took the time afterwards to speak to the boys about hard work and clean play and that message never gets old! They also awarded game balls to a player from each team and from my perspective, they must have been paying attention both days because they picked a deserving player from both teams. That dedication to the kids and attention to detail is a rare find these days.

I just wanted to send a quick note to you about the umpires that you had for the 11UAA tournament this past weekend.
I know that umpires mostly hear negative comments and that is why I wanted to write to you and give them positive comments! They were really good all day long, fair for all teams that played. We were especially surprised with the speech that one of them (the younger of the two) gave after the championship game was over. I know it meant a lot to our boys and our parents. He talked about reaching for dreams, that all the boys, on both teams, had great potential, and that they can achieve what they want if they try hard enough. Both of the umpires watched the whole game to pick out MVP's from both teams and gave a player from each team a game ball. That has not happened in other tournaments that we have played in. It was a nice change from when umpires just walk off after the games. They took the time to shake the hands of our team and the parents, even though the game had gone on for a long time and I am sure they were ready to go home!
I think that it is important for you as a tournament director to hear comments that praise umpires as well. I hope that you will pass on this information to them and let them know how impressed we were with them.
