Entry ID: 1665287 | I was watching a great playoff game last night between the Orioles and the Red Sox until the top of the sixth inning with the score 4 to 3 in favor of the Red Sox the Orioles had runners on first and third with two outs and it happened again (it happened during the regular season between the same two teams) the head coach of the Red Sox puts the Orioles batter on first without throwing a pitch. He loaded up the bases and the next batter struck out and the Red Sox won 4 to 3. I hope the Red Sox coach is proud of that bush league move to win a game. I have played baseball for many years and coached little league baseball for many years for Mel Ott little league and there is nothing worse than a coach that wants to win so bad than one that beats you with the rule book and does not let the kids play. Number one it showed me that the coach had no confidence in his pitcher and no confidence in his team to come back and win the game if the Orioles did score and tie the game or go ahead not to mention to demoralize the other team. I was always tought that little league was for the KIDS to learn the the game learn spotsmanship and have most of all to have fun. In closing it is pretty bad when a coach's ego gets in the way and he wants to win so bad that he forgets the number one reason they are out there for the kids. Thank you |
