Entry ID: 1631912 | Tremendous job this weekend boys! You all played Astro baseball and played hard when it counted. You all should be very proud of yourselves- you got to play 6 games, winning 4 in a row, while making it to the championship round, where we fell a little short against a very,very good hitting team, the L.I. Dodgers. Prior to the championship game, your only loss was a 1-0 game against a tough, fundamentally sound Frozen Ropes team, which eventually went on to finish 4-0. I am very proud to be part of this team and this coaching staff. We will continue to work hard in making this team better with more consistent hitting and solid defense. I also would like to thank all the parents and friends who attended this weekend's games and gave up their holiday weekend to watch some very good baseball. Without you, this is all not possible! Aain, congradulations boys and keep those heads up high,and keep up the great work! Let's go ASTROS!!!! |

U boys made some outstanding plays defensevily in the field, including two relay putouts at second base on sure doubles-I guess it pays to have Greg modica train us! We have stressed defense and communication with each other, as well as staying focused and alert. We are in a tough division, playing some of the best teams that Long Island has to offer. I just want each and every one of you to know that I am very proud of u all. Each one of u is a fantastic ball player, and together as a team, with focus and determination, you boys can play and beat anyone! Just play the ball, and everything else will take care of itself. Entry ID: 1596705 | Just want all of you to know that you all worked extremely hard during the winter with workouts in the gym as well as our 10 week hitting session and for our pitchers who went thru 20 grueling weeks of training with Greg. I know you will all stay focused and play hard and come onto the field ready to win. If you all talk together and play hard you can beat ANYONE out there and you showed me that. Good luck boys in the 2009 Spring season playing in a very tough division in NJBL..I know you will make myself and the coaches very proud. I also want to welcome the big addition of Frankie and his Dad to our Astro's team. Lets go out there and have fun boys and do what you all know how to do and thats WIN..
