One AWESOME performance!!! 9 games in 4 days and 100+ degrees on the field everyday! Man you guys showed the country what The Long Island Riptide are made of---GUTS! There is not a team we played that does not know they were in a war. These boys played with more heart than any of us have seen previously from them. Even the #1 seed Dallas Stars knew they were in a war. This Riptide Baseball Team came to play this week in S.C., AND IT SHOWED!!! GREAT JOB GUYS WE ARE ALL PROUD OF YOU FOR SHOWING HOW THE TIDE CAN PLAY WITH ANYONE!!!

For those of you interested. RJ pitched 2 games in our most recent tourney and both times pitched one hit shutouts. He caught all day on Sunday (yest.) and we won the championship game 5-4 against a very good team from Louisiana, the Angels. They actually hit 7 homeruns in the finals game to get the championship to play us and we beat them in the bottom of the seventh inning as we were the home team and #1 seed. Anyway, hope all is well with everyone and we are trying to make travel arrangements up there now that the kids are out of school so hope to see everyone soon. Go TIDE!!! Miss you guys and love ya! Hey Scooby, nice surprise to hear from you guys and hope to see you soon! We came close in Delaware, Ty's shot down the third base line that was called foul or the kid reaching over the fence (a great catch!) to rob Luke of a grand slam. We came that close! These guys played one of the best teams on the East Coast and they couldn't believe the way we kept coming back. We should have had them, but we got a lot of respect from everyone for the way they played! Miss you guys hope to see y'all soon! Luke Sr. and Family

Mama Real Deal and Luke Happy B-day, hope you have a great day. Danny, congrats on your first homerun, keep it up kid, the skies the limit. Great to see you guys doing well, as usual Riptide baseball shines. Wish you guys would have pushed over a couple runs in Delaware to go to the championship but great job. Hope to see all soon, we are trying to plan a trip soon if our extracurricular activities allow. Miss you guys!!

I first want to wish the Riptide good luck this season. It's tough to imagine with the nice weather gettin closer that I will not get to see my son play with a team that he was with from the start. I tried everything I could to get The Ironman back in the Carolina Blues. Nothin as painful as knowin your son wants to be with the boys his been with for so many years. Secondly, i want the entire Tide Family to know that Coach Pete was very considerent and gave me time to see if there was anything I could do. To end any rumors about my sons status because I have gotten many calls from friends and other travel coaches offering to help out because they heard that dad wouldn't pay. I wanted him to play and offered all my time and money was never an issue. I spoke with Pete on this and he knew that the money was not the problem. He is not playing because of selfishness and putting the happiness and future of a young boys baseball second to their own. I will be around to watch. The Tide has been family and i still bleed carolina blue. And lastly, I want to thank all of the kids and parents for offering to do what they can. 2009, 90 ft bases, realtime baseball...To all Riptide Boys, sometimes you may get mad at your parents, tough games. travel and long weekends..You boys are special and I will say this. All of the times you get down, strikeout, make an error. Dont ever bring it home, dont fight with mom and dad. If they want to give you advice, hear and listen. Trust me on this. I know what I'm talking about. all of the practice and hard work is worth it. And to the Tide parents, Ive been there with you. At times you want to say this is just too much. We say to ourselves Coach Pete is too hard, he's pushing them too much, to much baseball. When we feel like that, just remeber that Coach Pete and his staff are doing all of this for the future of these kids. The Riptide have the best staff around and I want to say this.."The worst day of travel baseball is 100 times better than no baaseball at all. I know, the one thing that me and my son shared and love has been taken away from us and it has tore me apart. ROLL TIDE '09
