Let's face it most of these organizations have become big business. Some one is getting rich. 20 kids X $1500 = $30k for a summer season just for one team. Now multiply that by 10 teams and someone is walking away with over 300k for a month and a half of baseball. Add in a Spring and Fall season and 300k turns into 600k. Not a bad income. My son was on a team (will not mention the organization) but they charged an astronomical amount of money and made many promises that were not delivered. The team did not have any practices, did not play the amount of promised games, the kids hated the paid coach who did nothing except yell at them and put them down. Many calls and emails to the head of the organization went unanswered. And when they did answer they would play dumb. My son was competing with about 20 other kids for playing time. Those who paid for private lessons received the most of the playing time. My son is an average pitcher and was lucky to get in an inning a week. His lack of pitching time was not because of his lack of talent, it was because the private customers had to work on what they paid for. My son his remaining teammates were the last to leave after a terrible fall season. We forfeited two doubleheaders and were recruiting players that were not on the roster to help field a team. People eventually wake up, this team and organization is having so much trouble recruiting new blood, they are offering free tryouts.

The word is that the Boys of Summer is on its own. No more FABL and no more BAseball Heaven. They've had meetings with some people and are going back to doing their own thing which worked very well. Their meeting at the Holiday Inn will clear up any confusion.

Titans are a great organization and get their players lots of exposure and go the extra yard. However, it is equally true that a lot of these players were developed by "mom and pop" teams. The player leaves at age 16/17, plays one year or year and a half with Titans/Bayside Yankees and gets a scholarship and all the credit goes to the these teams. How about just a little credit to ALL the Daddy ball and mom and pop teams that gave these players an opportunity to play travel ball in the first place?

I love how teams are so quick to take credit for people that play with them for one season or one game. Just like Bayside Yankees Rocco Baldelli played one game for them and he is now considered a bayside yankee. Bottom line in these so called elite teams are not developing these players they use the titans for one season, get the exposure, perform and get there scholarship. In no way are they producing that ball player but they will sure take credit for them. Am I right or wrong?

News Flash...the Titans are cheaper then most so called organizations....and there players and teams get 10x the results any other program in the Northeast gets. More winning more coaching, and oh ya way more players going to college to play baseball on Scholarship. Until anyone else comes close to do what the Titans do for there players, zip it. I like the post about players drafted below. The Titans had 6 players drafted in 2009. Again more then any of these other teams combined. You guys are all MOM and POP.

Funny how there are teams or people logging on here fighting about who was on their team and who brought them into the league. To me just goes to show you how screwed up we are as a group. Also why would anyone in their right mind write a kids name on a public website and state that the reason he "turned down" D1 offers is due to fact he SATs were low. First If anyone ever wrote that about my kids I would bitch slap them. The only person who should make that statement in a forum like this is the person themselves. Second a kid doesn't turn down a school due to grades the school wont let you in so it is not only a silly statement it is inapproriate as well. To all the kids that signed last year and this year YOU got yourself into school by showing up to class and playing well when it mattered don't ever let anyone take that away. The Titans do a good job promoting the players with talent. No talent or grade and not much even they can do so take the credit it is your hardwork that pays off and will keep you in school once you get there.

Remember guys, players get themselves into college. They either can play or they can't. They'll either get good grades and make the grade or they don't and end up at a Junior College. The Titans are one of the few organizations that actually promote the stuffing out of their players. BUT YOU PAY FOR IT.
