Entry ID: 1722696 | Mr. Levy is right up there with the great Burt Bell as far as football goes in Philadelphia. I was a struggling kid living in a not so great family situation. The Quakers gave me structure and helped me work on my skills, football and social. I knew Goose Clement from being a neighbor in Strafford and schooling with his daughters. He is such a kind man too. I love my time as a Quaker and like to think it helped me haul in a 65 yard pass in the Lower Merion / Radnor game setting up our first TD and win in an 11-1 season. Thank you Mr. Levy and everyone involved for giving this kid a chance! Go Eagles!!!! |

Entry ID: 1678202 | Thank you Mr. Levy for giving me one of the best experiences of my life. Prior to my second season of playing for the LQ I was hit by a car. The injuries were severe and I was unable to play. Mr. Levy invited me to be on the sidelines and to travel with the team to all the games. Thank you Mr. levy for your kindness and generosity. |

Entry ID: 1640800 | What a thrill it was to find this site. I played with the LQ's in 1965, having played with the Bucks Warrington Warriors that year. My Dad was the coach of the 90 lb team.
I had been blindsided in on of our games and ended up having water on the knee. They had to take out 2 vials of fluid the first time I went to the hospital. Even with the bad knee I was offered tryous with the LQ's and made the cut.My mother passed away on August 8 and then I injured my knee.Dad, being a former Marine Capt., kept me focused. The LQ's even sent me to a specialist in Phila to make sure my knee was o.k. We played a lot of games and it was the greatest experience one that I often think of throughout my life. We ended up going to Sarastoa,(Dad went too) Fla and durng my stint in the game I sacked the QB so hard, you could have heard a pin drop. We did win. I can not say enough about Mr. Levy and his organization and their dedication to the kids that try out and make the team. This site is now on the favorite list and I will follow it. |

I can say without any doubt that over with the passage of time and an accumulation of life experiences I have come to appreciate my LQ experience back in 1974 in a very special way. Sure I played on a great team, we won all of our games but what I remember most were the friends that I made on the team, the opposing player from Long Island who stayed with my family the night before we played on Franklin Field, and the family that I stayed with when we played in Hawaii.
The LQ experience led to my entrance into Penn Charter
where I made lifelong friendships and came to learn the meaning of the term "student/athlete". I went on to play football & Lacrosse at Penn before injuries ended my career.
I've been in Fla for twenty years and have watched the Little Quakers play a fews times, the previous two years they have played in my hometown of ST PETERSBURG, against a team called the Lakewood Spartans who are an excellent organization. To all Little Quaker players and alumni, coaches, etc please let me know if you are coming down to the Tampa Bay area and I'll be happy to show you around...Good Luck this season!

Entry ID: 1465609 | The 1984 Little Quakers was the best football team I ever played on. All of the players where great athletes, the talent on that team could have beaten any catholic or public league team. Mr. Levy and his coaching staff were great mentors to all of us players. Thanks for the great memories. |
