Entry ID: 1709283 | As Scott mentioned, we are working with Daktroniks and have been since the first day we discovered the problems to resolve the scoreboard issues on both Fields-2 & 3. The parts are coming from out of state and are in transit. We hope to have both scoreboards completely repaired by the weekend. Please note that these scoreboards are maintained by MYA and no one else and we are doing all that we can to expedite repairs and alleviate the inconvenience. We appreciate greatly everyones patience. Please feel free to contact me if you need to discuss further. Thank You! |

Entry ID: 1709149 | Just to let everyone know, MYA is doing everything we can to get the scoreboard fixed on Field 2 at Avalon. The Friday night when it was discovered it wasn't working, MYA had someone called to come and look at it around 9pm that night. There was a circuit board of some kind that had blown inside the unit. A part was ordered that night in hopes that would correct the issue. Please be patient as we hope to have this taken as soon as possible.
When leaving a comment, please leave your name so that if needed, someone can contact you about the issue to keep you informed. |

Entry ID: 1692395 | Yes, Jim. The clock still runs even during a timeout. Found that one out the hard way when trying to get other personel into the backfield to run. The timeout actually cost me time off the clock. |

Entry ID: 1691480 | I also have a question regarding Mercy Rules...I understand there is a "continuous clock", however, does the clock still run even if a "time out" is called? |

Entry ID: 1691449 | Tim, from the HCYFL By-Laws:
If any team leads another by 24 points or more at any point during the game the officials will apply the following rules apply to the team that leads: There will be no kicking game, the ball will be placed on the 50 yd line, the starting running backs must be replaced, all offensive plays must be ran between the tackles, no passing allowed and the defense must play a conventional defense no more than 8 on the line or blitzing. The team that is ahead will be allowed only four offensive plays per possession. If the point difference is 24 or more at the start of the fourth quarter, the officials will direct the timekeeper to run the clock continuously. If at any point the score differential becomes less than 24 points normal play shall resume. It is not the opposing coachs option to not follow the slaughter rule. |

Entry ID: 1690186 | Just wanted to say that I appreciate all the hard work that all the volunteers (Board Members and Coaches) up at MYA are doing for our kids! I know you guys don't get paid for all the stress and work and hassle that you endure week after week and that there are times when you probably want to just walk away!! Thanks for sticking it out and getting so much done for the kids and the park...plenty of parents are out there that are positive and happy with the season so far!! No one understands what a thankless job you guys have but those of us who know what you put up with and where your hearts are, we love you guys!!! Tony, you're doing an awesome job running things....Thanks again!!! |

Entry ID: 1683226 | To LSU Parent, the speakers were working at the Jamboree and I noticed Saturday morning that one of them wasn't working. I then informed the right people about this but we cannot get it fixed on the same day it was discovered. I understand your concern about not being able to hear the game being announced and we hope to have this corrected shortly. We had no idea during this past week that it had stopped working. Please be patient as we will do our best to take care of this as quickly as we can. |

Entry ID: 1678967 | After yesterday's incident, the first thing I did with our Team as we were warming up was to emphasize why we NEVER grab a facemask and I also re-emphasized keeping your head up and to NEVER "spear". ALL of my kids were shown and told...I gotta sleep at night and to do that I need to know that I've done all I can to protect my guys. On another note - - I thought the Jamboree was very successful. MYA did a fine job managing so many games in such a short period of time. It was a long day for the Officials and we all appreciate their efforts. |
